Our aim is to create an environment where each individual can feel free to express themselves in a way that works for the good of the entire classroom. To do this we encourage questioning, observing, problem solving, sharing supplies, sitting in table groups and learning games together.
TESTING
Third Grade is the first year of standardized testing. All students take reading and math tests using a computer.
Weekly homework contains a reading passage that has comprehension questions, vocabulary and inferential questions very similar to those found on the State Test.
Math practice is also supported by homework as well as classroom instruction. Vocabulary is at the heart of each strand, so encourage your child to share weekly signal words or new vocabulary with you at home.
