The Rook I Project ("Rook I") is a proposed new underground uranium mining and millingoperation located in the southwestern Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan. The 100%-owned Rook I Project hosts the land-based Arrow Deposit. The Arrow Depositis located in competent basement rock, and a safe distance (600 m) from the closestshoreline. The fact that the technical setting of the Deposit is within competent, crystallinebasement rock, means that it lends itself to safe and cost-effective conventional miningtechniques utilized globally. The proposed project includes underground and surfacefacilities to support mining and milling operations. Rook I will consist of undergroundmining operations, a surface processing facility, an airstrip, waste rock storage facilities, water management and treatment infrastructure, and ancillary surface facilities tosupport operations. At peak production, Rook I will produce an average of 1,400 tonnes of ore per day withan annual production capacity of up to 31 million lbs U3O8. Both the mine and mill willutilize and exceed industry best practices and technologies to ensure the health andsafety of personnel and the protection of the environment. Rook I has an anticipated 24 year operating life with an additional 3 years ofconstruction, 5 years of active decommissioning, and 10 years of post-activedecommissioning monitoring.

Rook I will incorporate best-in-class water management practices to ensure fresh water
use is minimized and water quality is protected to the highest level. Maximizing
diversion of fresh water away from facilities and infrastructure and optimizing water
reuse and recycling ensures water resources are protected for generations to come.
Industry best practices include:
Collection and treatment of wastewater generated by site activities,
Treatment will consist of two stage treatment with capacity to effectively remove
any potential contaminants,
Treated water will be stored in lined ponds, analyzed in a verified on-site laboratory
to ensure environmental discharge criteria is met or exceeded.

Rook I is designed to operate in a manner that minimizes the generation of waste,
protects workers, the public, and the environment while meeting or exceeding all
regulatory requirements.
Plans for handling and disposing of domestic, industrial, hazardous, and radiologically
contaminated waste are being finalized as part of the Feasibility Study. All domestic,
industrial, hazardous, and radiologically contaminated waste will be segregated, tracked
and managed according to classification and characterization after for safe
permanent disposal.
Waste Management
Waste Rock Management
Waste rock will be characterized, sorted based on project-specific environmental
criteria and stored safely.
Ore and other specific material will be stored on lined pads equipped with leak
detection and containment capacity to prevent releases during extreme precipitation
events. Ore will be processed in the mill. After a comprehensive analysis of tailings
management options, it is proposed that potentially environmentally sensitive material
be placed underground during on-going decommissioning in the Underground Tailings
Management Facility ("UGTMF").
Clean waste rock will be piled on surface and contoured (which will be well below the
topographical high in the area) in-place during operations and decommissioning. Some
clean waste rock will be utilized through-out the project life-cycle for construction or
site maintenance purposes.

Tailings Management
NexGen's commitment to environmental excellence is highlighted through its proposedplan to return all tailings underground for permanent storage. After a thorough review andanalysis of all options for tailings storage, tailings being processed into an engineered paste(cement-like substance), transferred underground, and placed in either mined-out cavitiesor a purpose-built UGTMF is being proposed. A first in the uranium mining industry in Canada but utilized in mining globally, the UGTMF isproposed to consist of chambers constructed in stable and strong basement rock, approximately 385 m below surface. This leading-edge approach significantly reduces the surface disturbance footprint of theProject, reduces contaminant mobility and allows for tailings to be decommissioned duringoperations contributing to best-in class, long-term, environmental performance.

Decommissioning and Reclamation
Rook I has been designed with decommissioning in mind and progressivedecommissioning will occur throughout the operational phase of the Project including theplacement of tailings underground, contouring the clean waste rock pile below thetopographical high of the area during operations, and centralizing the location of surfaceinfrastructure to minimize land disturbance. A financial assurance to cover the costs of decommissioning and reclamation will be inplace following the completion of the Environmental Assessment, and prior to projectconstruction. Following the completion of operations, the site will be contoured and revegetated.Monitoring will verify that protection of land, water, air, wildlife, and human health ismaintained long-term. Following decommissioning it is envisioned that the site will bereturned to a state suitable for recreational and traditional land uses without any accessrestrictions. Visibly, it will be difficult to tell that a mine and mill ever operated in the area, especially with no tailings remaining on surface.

ENGAGEMENT WITH STAKEHOLDERS
We recognize the importance of engaging with local and Indigenous Communities, regulators and stakeholders. Engagement with neighbouring Public and Indigenous Communities began in the infancyof the Company's inception in 2013, before exploration drilling began. Engagement hasincluded formal meeting and site tours as well as informal involvement in the form ofparticipation in community events and NexGen facilitated initiatives. NexGen's community outreach initiatives have focused on the development of youth, including support for local school breakfast programs, a bursary program for post-secondary education, annual summer mentorships and youth sport programs. We are committed to meaningful engagement through all phases and stages of theProject and beyond.

The NexGen bursary aidsstudents who are without aprimary source of funding fortheir post- secondaryeducation but who haveexhibited communityleadership and academiceffort. For many students, theNexGen bursary meansgetting the chance to attend apost-secondary institution andcomplete their studiesenabling them to become theleaders of the future. Four students have gonethrough the program and areactively pursuing their post-secondary programs.
In 2017, through an alliancewith the Breakfast Club ofCanada (BCC), NexGenpartnered with three localschools in La Loche to providebreakfast to over 1,1oostudents daily. Through thisprogram eight cooks areemployed from the localcommunity. Healthybreakfasts improve studentconcentration, focus andenables a more effectivelearning experience for allinvolved – including students, teachers and administrators.

The World Needs Clean Energy
NexGen is committed to the sustainable development of Rook I and to delivering the
clean energy of the future.
Uranium is a critical part of the future global energy mix. As the world moves towards
low-carbon energy sources, the uranium extracted as part of the Rook I project will only
be used for peaceful purposes fuelling nuclear reactors and produce reliable, low cost,
and clean source of electricity.
Nuclear energy is expected to remain an important part of the global energy supply mix
for the future to come. It is estimated that by 2040 the demand will have grown by 90
percent (source: World Energy Outlook 2018).
The development of Rook I will aid in supplying the demands of the future and
significantly help in cleaning the air for the next generations.
