Nick Spearing scored a career-high nine points off the bench and accounted for nine of Roncalli’s 22 second-half points.

RONCALLI IN “THE WOODSHED”The school building opened in 1962 as Bishop Chartrand and hosted its first varsity basket-ball game on December 5, 1964 when the Rams boys team hosted Clarksville Providence. In the fall of 1969, John F. Kennedy Memorial High School merged with Bishop Char-trand to form Roncalli High School, whose teams would be known as the Rebels. Over the years, the gym became known as “The Woodshed” due to the cozy and intense atmosphere.

The program’s first home win as the Rebels was a 94-39 victory over the Latin School on De-cember 6, 1969. The Rebels own an all-time home record of 271-171 (.613) and are 93-25 (.788) at “The Woodshed” since the start of the 2006-07 season. In 16 seasons under head coach Michael Wantz, the Rebels are 112-37 (.752) at home. The Rebels’ longest home win-ning streak is a 14-game streak that ran from February 23, 2006 through February 1, 2008.
