LOW TAXES
Roanoke is a wonderful place to live, work, and play. Roanoke is in one of the most rapidly growing areas in the country. Our residents and industrial partners benefit from the many positive attributes that our city has to offer.
Our current municipal tax rate ($.375 per $100 valuation) is one of the lowest in the entire state. Roanoke's combined tax rate is approximately $2.10 per $100. We have been able to continually provide excellent public services to businesses and residents while maintaining this low tax rate.
FAST TRACKING
Businesses in Roanoke also benefit from a Triple Freeport Exemption. During the present climate in which some of our neighboring cities are experiencing an 8 to 10 week waiting period for building permits, we are proud to have streamlined the process to benefit our builders.
We also provide a "fast track" building permit process, providing opportunity for the center to be under construction while the remainder of the construction plans are being reviewed. We are in partnership with our customers!
TREMENDOUS GROWTH
The City of Roanoke has been one of the top 10 fastest growing communities in the Metroplex for 3 straight years. We have a tremendous pro -business attitude. The City of Roanoke has 2 economic development corporations, the 4A and 4B.
These corporations deal with recruiting industrial development and financing new infrastructure, as well as many other business-related facets. Both corporations also provide funds to improve the quality of life in Roanoke, such as park improvements. They each receive a 1-half cent sales tax of each dollar spent in Roanoke. These funds have proven to be very effective.
BUSINESS RETENTION
The city has adopted an economic development investment policy that awards significant grants to companies that retain a certain amount of inventory in their facilities. This new incentive, coupled with our extremely low tax rate, make Roanoke a wonderful business destination.
