The Spring 2015 North American Limousin Foundation EPD’s have greater predictability from the benefit of an

international multi-breed genetic evaluation.

What are the advantages of changing to a multi-breed genetic evaluation?

The Limousin evaluations (EPD’s) are directly comparable to Red Angus, Simmental, and Gelbvieh,

among other breeds, making selection decisions easier for commercial producers.

The carcass trait EPD’s are more conservative, but consequently will be more accurate in the long run.

A contemporary group realignment into larger groups contributes to higher accuracy EPD’s.

Embryo calves are no longer taken for account in the growth traits, but carcass data will be included.
