Romanian Tour before the European Conference -organized by PTP Roman- 1 st day (23 rd of May): Arriving in Bucharest. Afternoon walking City Tour that will include: Calea Victoriei (major avenue of past & present Bucharest), Piata Revolutiei (with short story from Andrei about Romanian Revolution), Old City Center (a mix of old buildings and new cafés & terraces), The Palace of the Parliament (the biggest building in the world after the Pentagon) and many others. Accommodation in Bucharest. 2 nd day (24 th of May): Leaving Bucharest for Sibiu. On our way we will follow the road called Transfagarasanul (photo) which Top Gear’s host, Jeremy Clarkson, so kindly called it as “the best road in the world” because of its breathtaking views. In Sibiu we will have lunch and we’ll take a walk in the old city center. Later in the afternoon we leave for Bran where will have our accommodation.

1st

day (23rd

of May): Arriving in Bucharest. Afternoon walking

2nd

day (24th

of May): Leaving Bucharest for Sibiu. On our way

day (25th

of May): In the morning we will visit Bran Castle,

also known as “Dracula Castle”. We leave Bran for Brasov where

we will visit the Black Church (A Gothic Cathedral built by the

German community in the 14th

century). We will then take a

walk in the old city and serve lunch in Piata Sfatului (photo). We

continue our journey and try to reach Sighisoara in daylight.

Sighişoara is considered to be one of the most beautiful and

well preserved inhabited citadels in Europe with an authentic

medieval architecture. Accommodation in Sighisoara.

4th

day (26th

of May): We leave Sighisoara and in our way to

Piatra Neamt we cross again the Carpathians Mountains

through Bicaz Canyon and probably stop at Izvorul Muntelui for

a short cruise on the lake (photo). Lunch will be served in Piatra

Neamt. We will visit in the afternoon Agapia Monastery and

Neamt Fortress. Dinner and accommodation in Roman.

5th

day (27th

of May): Free day in Roman, the town where our

PTP Chapter has its office. If you want, you have the chance to

meet our young members (photo) and attend some

volunteering activity. (More details will be available soon)

6th

day (28th

of May): We leave Roman and we will arrive

during afternoon in the Delta Danube probably at Wels

Hotel, where we could rest for the rest of the afternoon in

the nature or at the swimming pool.

7th

day (29th

of May): The Danube Delta is the best

preserved of Europe's deltas. It has a highly diverse flora

and fauna, unique in Europe, with numerous rare species.

This is why in this day, those who want, can take part at a

boat excursion to explore de beauty of this amazing place.

8th

day (30th

of May): We say “Good Bye!” to the Delta and

head for Varna. We will stop at Histria (photo). Histria is the

oldest town known to be built in present Romania. It was

raised by Greek people in the 7th

century BC. We will probably

stop for lunch and a short walk in Constanta (Romania’s most

important city at the Black Sea). We will arrive in Varna late in

the afternoon.

Total travel cost: 310 euro/person

What is included:

- private transport throughout the entire trip

- 7 nights’ accommodation in double rooms in

3* or 4* hotels with breakfast included

- Andrei Corduneanu (PTP Roman) will be your companion

What is not included:

- entrance fees

- lunch & dinner

- boat excursion in the Danube Delta (price will be calculated

according to the number of persons interested to join

Other important facts:

- the minimum number of persons needed: 5

- for those who want single rooms there is an extra fee of

140 euro

- in Roman, we can provide homestay instead of hotel

accommodation. And because the homestay fee is smaller

than the hotel, those who will apply for homestay get a 15

euro discount
