SacrificeRom 12:1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which
is your reasonable service.” (NKJ).
Does not so much persuade as it defines what is service and sacrifice:
To be an acceptable living sacrifice, the godly Mind of man must lead his Body.
Romans 12:1
Not performed according to God’s will Made by rote or habit, not driven by the
inward man Not accompanied by a Godly life The offering is not really a sacrifice
When do sacrifices fail?
When the mind, spirit, reason are fully engaged
When the sacrifice is according to God’s will When the sacrifice really costs something When the sacrifice is part of a Godly life
When does sacrifice succeed?
Fruit of the lips Doing good; sharing Supporting gospel preaching Worldly reputation, esteem Convenient peace; accommodation Time
