Forest Resource situation in Thailand In 1961, a total forest area in Thailand was app. 53% of its total area. Current existing forest area ~ 32.7% (16,320,000 ha) National Forest Cover Target 40% (20,480,000 ha) - Conservation Forest 15% + Production Forest 25% - More Forest cover ~ 7.3% (4,160,000 ha)
