ROLE OF SDAS

SDAs are the statutory bodies set up under section

15(d) of the EC Act,2001 to play an effective roleto:

Collection, Collation and analysis of data regardingenergy use

Dissemination of information to the massesregarding use of efficient energy.

Create public awareness and understanding aboutthe values of energy conservation

Implementation of the EC Act,2001

Stimulating market transformation at the local

level

The total expenditure under this scheme is estimatedto be Rs. 49.47 crores over a 5 year periodcommencing from year 2007-08.

PAYMENT TO CONSULTANTSPAYMENT TO CONSULTANTS

Rs. 4000/ - per man day for deputing a technical

person for assisting the SDAs

The technical person is to be deputed in the city where

the SDA is headquartered

The technical person should be a BEE certified Energy

Manager / Energy Auditor w ith a minimum of two

years work experience in the field of energy efficiency

Payment will be made through SDAs or by BEE onreceipt of letter from SDA

EXPECTATIONSEXPECTATIONS

Should send a detailed CV to BEE of the technical

person prior to deputing them to SDAs for approval

Should be stationed at SDA headquarter and use their

office space

Should carry their own laptop and data card for

internet access

No change of personnel at frequent intervals

Any change of the deputed personnel to be done w ith

the consent of SDA or BEE

Should work towards fulfillment of the roles assigned

to SDAs under the EC Act 2001 and by the BEE

DEMO PROJECTSDEMO PROJECTS

SDAs will identify demonstration projects with high

impact value in big cities

The demonstration projects may be

energy efficiency lighting project for upcoming

flyovers or centrally located park, or a place ofcultural or tourism importance within the city

drinking water supply in a government owned

residential or office complex small / medium enterprises industry cluster, having

high replicability

Based on proposal of demo projects obtained

from SDAs, BEE w ill prepare a scope of work

Consultants w ill submit their financial bid based

on the scope of work

A consultant will be awarded a demo projectbased on the lowest financial bid

Demo project is to be conducted in consultation

with SDA, State Government Agency /Department which has to implement the project
