Behind his back, SOLOMON switches on the tiny motor in his gold sovereign ring and uses the quickly spinning, but silent saw-disc to start cutting through his bonds.

A word from our sponsorsRogues’ Gallery came about after Colours 2011 in Newbury, Graeme and Karl were after some quick play, participation games that illustrated the rules of 7TV and the Action:Engine, and we all got to brainstorming after the event.

We decided that small games, which could be played on tables about 24” to 30” square, and with minimal casts would be the way to go, so that you’re thrown into the thick of the action from the start. With that in mind, we quickly settled on three general ideas, one game focused on movement, one on shooting, and one on a bit of the ol’ hand-to-hand.

From those basic ideas we ended up with a race across a village green evading a blocking foe, a battle against alien invaders, and a bunch of coppers making a collar. The obvious thing was to use the existing casts from the core rulebook, Department X, Time Lift Security and The Beat respectively, but the next question was who to to pit them against?

From that Fiddler Green, The Mist From Mars and the Poplar Front were born. Creating and playtesting the episodes proved great fun. With the personalities of these villains taking shape, we decided to expand them further, into full casts in their own right.

We hope you enjoy them and the episodes we’ve created.

Fiddler Green

Possessing an unshakeable sense of hereditary entitlement and a firm belief that it is his solemn duty to preserve England as a ‘Green and Pleasant Land’ proved to be the just the right blend of imperialism and megalomania to fuel Fiddler Green’s insane lust for power.

An aristocrat of considerable standing, he has chosen to go by the self-styled title Fiddler Green, to preserve his anonymity and position in the House of Lords and the peerage. His ultimate aim is to take what he believes is his rightful place as custodian of England and its territories.

Fiddler GreenA megalomaniac through and through, Fiddler Green sits at the centre of his own quaint and completely delusional empire, which is based at his estate in Surrey. Ruling alongside his wife, who commands a small army of fanatical yokels in his name, together they’ve embarked on a scheme of kidnapping and extortion to gain power.

Lately however, he has begun to employ the finest, or at least most unhinged, scientific minds that money and power can either buy or intimidate into creating a mechanical army as loyal as his Morris Men militia.

Professor Bartholomew ‘Barking Bertie’ Brown An old school chum of Fiddler Green, Professor Brown has tried his hand at a range of disciplines throughout his career and is somewhat of a mechanical, medical and veterinary jack-of-all-trades. His unorthodox research experiments into cybernetic augmentation and behavioural implants led not only to him being struck off when some of his enhanced beagles ravaged his colleagues and support staff, resulting in the loss of his own arm and a nervous disposition that he has never fully recovered from.

Episode: Fiddler’s Green

The Story So Far…Infiltrating the village, on reconnaissance for Department X, Doctor Hugo Solomon and Agent Pandora King have unearthed what the missing scientists have been forced to work on - a legion of radio-controlled automaton Scarecrows poised to take over Great Britain. A plot hatched by the kidnapper, a shadowy villain who is using the name of the village as his title, Fiddler Green.

Having stolen the code for the shutdown control signal all Solomon and King need do is get Department X to transmit it, but with all radio communication being jammed that’s far easier said than done. Hunted by Fiddler Green’s Scarecrows and his fanatical Morris Men lackeys, Solomon and King will just have to call it in from the village telephone box!

CastsBelow are suggested casts representing Department X taking on Fiddler Green from the original broadcast, but you can always use your own casts with ratings of between 100 and 150.

Full cast lists for this episode are provided on the quick-play sheets at the end of this supplement.

Heroes - 150 ratingsDoctor Hugo Solomon (Heroic Guest Star, 90 ratings) and Agent Pandora King (Heroic Guest Co-Star, 60 ratings) are rapidly running out of options. They need to call in the shutdown code for the Scarecrow legion to Department X and do so quickly. Their one hope is reaching a telephone box on the village green, but Fiddler Green’s followers are patrolling the village, searching for them!

Villains - 143 ratingsSearching the village for Solomon and King are four Scarecrows (100 ratings), under the direction of Mrs Green (Morris Man leader, 15 ratings), Fiddler Green’s wife and right hand woman. She commands three Morris Men - two are armed with Batons (18 ratings) and the third is armed with a Rifle (10 ratings).

Leading scientists have been disappearing and, with no ransom demand yet issued, who is behind the kidnappings is unknown. So far there has only been one lead, the body of one of the missing scientists has been discovered in a field near the sleepy Surrey village of Fiddler’s Green.

Strangled, a look of pure terror on her face, the scientist had apparently been fleeing across country when something inhumanly strong had caught up with her.

LocationThe 2' x 2' table should represent Fiddler’s Green, the heart of the sleepy Surrey village that’s the home of the Scarecrow menace and also the adopted title of the mastermind behind it.

The majority of the table should represent the green itself, including a couple of benches and a few trees, perhaps even a duck pond. The green should be surrounded on all sides by roads, including a small car park for a parade of village shops, while the houses and the shop fronts themselves can mark the table edges.

SetupAll villain models must be set up first. They may be placed anywhere on the table, but no closer than 8” to any table edge (1).

The hero player then chooses one corner of the table and positions all of their models together within 5” of the corner (2).

Before play starts the telephone box, the goal of the heroes, must be placed in the opposite corner to where they’ve chosen to setup.

And… Action! The heroes gain the Initiative in the first turn as they break from cover, but roll for Initiative and Audience Appreciation as normal in the following turns.

Special RulesEvent cardsAs this is a quick play game, we recommend dealing only one Event card per player.

Telephone BoxIt takes one action to open the telephone box and one action to dial and transmit the code to Department X.

End CreditsEither the heroes make their telephone call or they are Wiped Out (all models are Stunned or removed from play) by the villains.

The Mist From Mars

The first encounter began soon after the British Government’s top-secret Project Time Lift experiment was successfully tested. A mysterious astronaut, composed of green mist that could assume or impersonate any form, penetrated the base and tried to activate the Time Lift mechanism.

To what purpose is still unknown, as thankfully Darius, The Man From 2000, was able to prevent the sinister being from accomplishing its task.

Since then, the astronaut has returned on a number of occasions, often joined by three others, possibly members of its crew. These visits are usually heralded by meteorite storms originating from the planet Mars and a space capsule crashing to Earth, both of which release a deadly green mist that possesses, by killing and then reanimating, anyone it touches. Because of this, the threat has been dubbed The Mist From Mars, or The Mist for short, by the boffins and security forces of Project Time Lift.

Cast Special EffectsIt Came From MarsBefore rolling for the first turn’s Initiative, roll 1D3. That many Martian meteorites will strike the area. Each meteorite will Scatter 2D6” in a random direction from the table centre. If it lands on a piece of scenery or another model, then that meteorite is lost. Once the final impact point of all surviving meteorites has been determined, the player may move one Extra from their cast (not Stars, Co-Stars or Also Starring… members) adjacent to each meteorite’s impact point.

Avatar of The MistWhether the Avatar is The Mist itself or purely an extension of its power is not known. It seems able to take on any form of its choosing, even becoming an exact doppelgänger of a person right down to their mannerisms and speech. When confronted however, it always reverts back to the shape of a space-suited astronaut, a human skull wreathed in green mist leering out from the open visor of its helmet.

One clue to the identity of the individual The Mist models itself on is the half torn nametag on the spacesuit that simply reads ‘Major T.-’ the rest of the initials and surname having been ripped away.

Episode: The Mist From Mars

An intact space capsule has crashed to Earth, ditching in the middle of a British RAF base. However, no space mission is currently underway and the capsule’s markings would indicate its origin is from the future! An incredible event has become an extraordinary one - making it the job of Project Time Lift.

The Story So Far…Arriving at the crash site, Darius and a team of Time Lift Security agents have quickly secured the area, pulling back all the military personnel. A temporal anomaly himself, Darius hails from the year 2000 and is now living in his past, but, whether it is truly his amnesia or not, he has no recollection of this event, something which is disturbing him greatly.

As Time Lift Security technicians begin to investigate the crash, the hatch seals break open and a green mist flows from the capsule. Before the poor souls can run, searching tendrils shroud them in mist and they collapse to the ground choking, only to rise seconds later, their faces vacant, their bodies no longer their own. Behind them, from the capsule, step three

astronauts. Sliding up the visors of their space helmets, revealing sallow and equally vacant faces, the astronauts open their mouths as if to scream, but instead of sound they exhale more of the dense green mist and begin to advance on Darius and the horrified Time Lift Security agents.

CastsBelow are suggested casts representing Project Time Lift taking on minions of The Mist From Mars from the original broadcast, but you can always use your own casts with ratings of between 100 and 150.

Full cast lists for this episode are provided on the quick-play sheets at the end of this supplement.

Heroes - 142 ratingsDarius, The Man From 2000 (Heroic Guest Star, 75 ratings), a Time Lift Security Commander (16 ratings) and six Time Lift Security agents - three armed with Pistols (24 ratings) and three armed with Rifles (27 ratings) - have arrived promptly at the scene of the crashed capsule and are now trying to contain the unknown menace.

Episode: The Mist From Mars

Villains - 147 ratingsThe Mist From Mars has dispatched three Servants of The Mist (Villainous Guest Co-Stars, 135 ratings), possessed astronauts, captured some time in the future and completely subservient to its will after prolonged exposure, to create a beachhead for an invasion. At the start of the game, they’ve already possessed three Technicians (12 ratings) who were examining the capsule.

LocationThe 2' x 2' table should represent the military base and site of the space capsule’s crash. One side of the table should feature the runway and the crashed space capsule, while the other should feature a control tower, hangars and service buildings. There should also be a number of defensible points, such as sandbagged positions, etc.

Set UpAll villain models must be set up first. They may be placed anywhere within 3” of the crashed space capsule.

The hero player can then place their models anywhere within 5” of the table edge, but so that no model starts more than 6” from at least one other friendly model.

And… Action!Roll for Initiative and Audience Appreciation as normal.

Special RulesEvent cardsAs this is a quick play game, we recommend dealing only one Event card per player.

Safe landingFor this episode you should ignore the Mist's It Came From Mars cast effect.

Temporally ChallengedDarius is not on his usual form when compared with his profile in the core rulebook; whether he suffers from amnesia or not, he is surprised and unsettled by current events and the profile in the cast list represents this uncertainty.

End CreditsEither the heroes or villains forces are Wiped Out (all models are Stunned, Dominated or removed from play).

The Poplar Front

Operating out of London’s East End, the Poplar Front have risen quickly amongst the capital's criminal underworld.

Much of this is thanks to the Duchess, the self-styled ‘Lady of Crime’ who is a relatively new enigma for DI Frank Skelton and his team in CID. Her rise to power has been surprisingly unbloody, her rivals either falling in line with her plans or disappearing quietly from the picture.

It’s suspected that her criminal activity covers a wide range of offences, from extortion and vice to armed robbery and fraud, but her direct involvement has, as yet, been impossible to prove. However, with the recent rise in power of the Poplar Front it is clear, to DI Skeleton at least, that an underworld war between East and West London is likely in the offing.

The DuchessLittle is known about the Duchess’ past, where she comes from or what motivates her. But when stressed, a rare event in itself, her speech slips from her usually controlled received pronunciation into an unmistakable Essex dialect.

Charming and seductive, she can be equally as cruel and ruthless in the pursuit of her goals, and seems willing to use or destroy anyone to achieve them. In taking charge of the East End, she has focused on recruiting or removing the heads of the organisations she’s incorporated into her schemes.

There's been a breakout from H.M.P. Slade! Amongst the missing are members of the Poplar Front, a gang from London’s East End, painstakingly put away by DI Frank Skelton and his team a couple of years ago.

The Story So Far…Word is that the gang have hooked up with the Duchess, recently returned from the Costa Patata. More worryingly, Skelton's grass has hinted that she’s bringing something with her, something that will help her to reclaim the grim streets of London and once again cast her cloak of fear across the city.

Luckily, some scrote has taken Skelton's invitation to offer information and, after his arm had been put in plaster, told the police of a ship that is due to arrive shortly in the Victoria Dock. Now all the DI has to do is get there in time, fight off the Poplar Front, and finally catch the Duchess red-handed!

CastsBelow are suggested casts representing The Beat taking on the Poplar Front from the original broadcast, but you can always use your own casts with ratings of between 100 and 150.

Full cast lists for this episode are provided on the quick-play sheets at the end of this supplement.

Heroes - 129 ratingsNo-nonsense copper Detective Inspector Frank Skelton (Heroic Guest Star, 64 ratings) has raced to the dock with WPC Cathy Black (Heroic Guest Co-Star, 25 ratings) and five eager Police Constables (40 ratings). The plan is to come at the boat from all sides and trap the rats. Once the collar has been made, there's a nice cell waiting for the Duchess and her mob back at Snow Hill police station.

Note that Skelton and Black's profile have expanded from the archetype build examples in the 7TV core rulebook, into fully-fledged Guest Stars with their own unique effects. Further updates will be available in the upcoming Programme Guide.

Villains - 130 ratingsUnloading crates from the ship are four ‘Eavies from the Poplar Front, overseen by the Duchess (Villainous Guest Star, 70 ratings) herself and a Hitman (20 ratings) she’s brought back from the Costa Patata. The 'Eavies (40 ratings) are armed with the tools they’re using as Hand Weapons, but the Hitman is armed with a Pistol.

LocationThe 2' x 2' table should represent part of the Victoria Dock. A third of the table should be given over to the ship the Duchess has arrived on and the remainder should be the docks and quayside itself. Ideally two gangplanks, one from the bow and one from the stern, should connect the ship to the docks so that it doesn’t become a stalemate over one access or escape route (although, such a slug-fest can also be fun).

Set UpAll hero models are deployed first, positioned anywhere on the docks and quayside (1), but no closer than 1” to any of the gangplanks. All villain model are then deployed on the ship, including the gangplanks (2), but no closer than 3” to the dock ends of those gangplanks.

And… Action!Roll for Initiative and Audience Appreciation as normal.

Special RulesEvent cardsAs this is a quick play game, we recommend dealing only one Event card per player.

The CargoThe crate (3) that the Duchess is smuggling into London contains a Metalnaut, a silver-skinned, hulking metal warrior (see the character card on page 28).

l If the Duchess spends one special action next to the crate, she can open it to reveal the Metalnaut. Spending a second special action will activate it.

l Unfortunately, the Metalnaut has been damaged and once activated, enters the game in an Uncontrolled state and doesn’t count towards either side; in effect it becomes a random, third party.

Code of ConductUnfortunately, due to recent events DI Skelton is on his final warning for abuses to his collars. As a result, he can’t shoot at any members of the opposing cast, unless they’re armed with a gun and have also shot first.

End CreditsEither the heroes or villains forces are Wiped Out (all models are Captured, Stunned or removed from play, either by escaping or as casualties).

In addition to the normal Victory Point conditions, the following are related to the original broadcast:

l The heroes receive +2 VP if, after it has been activated, the Metalnaut is eliminated or has any statuses, other than Uncontrolled, at the end of the game.

l The heroes receive +2 VP if the Hitman has the Captured or Stunned status at the end of the game.

l The heroes receive +1 VP for each ‘Eavy with the Captured or Stunned status at the end of the game.

l The villains receive +3 VP for the Duchess exiting the quayside table edge.

l The villains receive +1 VP for each Hitman or ‘Eavy exiting the quayside table edge.

The Duchess' latest enforcer has a screw loose...

Page 29: Rogues Gallery

Save the world…If you need heroes and crimefighters, try investigative academic Tweedy Mattison and his trusty sidekick May Killan.

There's also Daisy Taylor, time travelling agent Group Captain Jim Barrowight and a trio of astronauts led by the very daring Melody Lake. Fight your way out of trouble with hard-hitter Pandora King or add to the brainpower with our Scientists or firepower with the Time Lift Security!

Or rule it…Evil mastermind the Guru spearheads our villainous releases, and is backed by all manner of henchmen. Foremost there are armed and unarmed Minions, with both human and alien head options or add a dash of twisted science with the Failed Experiments.

If you would prefer more uncanny reinforcements we have the Scary Statues to populate your haunted houses and Corn Dolls to terrorise the fields! Or get technical with the allure of the metallic Femdroids or the silent Robo-Rodents.
