Third Team The South Yorkshire League have accepted our application to run a third senior team in 2018. This is an exciting development and this team will offer senior cricket to the top end of our junior section. Our intention is that this team can bridge the gap between junior and senior cricket, whilst being competitive and playing under the umbrella of the South Yorkshire pyramid.

Award Winners We’ve had a number of League award winners this year: Stuart Matsikenyeri has won the SYSCL batting award, also the YCA batting award with 973 runs at an average of 86.80. Andy Baker has won the SYSCL Division 1 Wicket keeping award with a total of 29 victims. Matthew Cox has won the Barnsley league fielding award for Division 3. Harry Ambler has won the batting award for the YJCF.

Thanks Skip Having captained the first team between 2004 and 2008, followed by several years as league representative skipper...............I thought that my captaincy days were over, some time ago! Unforeseen circumstances presented a further opportunity and I must say that I have thoroughly enjoyed captaining the team for the last 2 seasons.

However, with promotion secured and the added bonus of a couple of other pots along the way(!); it is now time for me to take a back seat once more and hand over the reigns to a younger man! I would like to Thank you all for the amazing support that you have given me. Your commitment, energy, humour and friendship has been incredible. We have

shared some very special moments..........and I know that there will be more to come!! Up The Rock!!

Fundraising & Social The club run many social events during the year. Last year saw go-karting and trips to Scarboro and Headingley. Please keep an eye on the website for details. We are in the process of planning a major sponsored event for March next year. It will likely take the form of a bike ride or walk. Last year, we held a 10 mile, circular walk and raised £1000 for our chosen charity, Cancer Research. We would like to attract more walker/cyclists this time around!
