Rockhaven Farm is nestled in the exquisite
surroundings of the Elgin Valley, a large,
lush area of land, circled by mountains in
the Overberg region of South Africa. Our
valley lies about 70 km southeast of
Cape Town, just beyond the Hottentots
Holland Mountains. The Elgin region is
centred on the town of Grabouw.
As a family owned and managed apple and
olive farm, we provide a unique, laid-back
environment where each bride can project
her own ideas in her own style. We want to
keep our farm exclusive and provide our
full attention to each celebration, thus we
only ever host one function on any given
weekend. Our function facility offers space
for anything from small, personal
weddings or functions to larger
celebrations, accommodating up to 140
seated guests.

Rockhaven is known for its’ boathouse,
beautiful lake, rolling orchard views and
top-class service, the perfect setting to
design your memorable celebration. We

Frog Cottage is a luxury venue that
showcases the incredible views of the
Elgin valley. Although it offers self-
catering, it is also serviced, and the
bedrooms boast king size beds made
up in fine cotton percale linens. The
large en-suite bathrooms are adorned
with quality fittings, a free standing
bath and walk-in shower. The modern
open plan kitchen is fully equipped and
has enough cutlery & crockery for 12
guests. Basic provisions such as milk,
tea, and coffee, are provided upon
arrival. The cottage’s modern design
and the introduction of classic and
contem-porary interior pieces complete
the tranquil atmosphere, creating the
ideal venue for the bride to get ready
in.
Note: A Weber “braai”/BBQ and Nespresso machine are
available with accommodation. Charcoal and Nespresso
pods are not included however; you will need to provide
these yourself if you wish to use these optional features.
**Please note that there is to be no sleeping on sofas or on
the day beds. These can be made up on request at a small
additional charge.

2. FROG COTTAGE 3 double en-suite rooms, sleeps 6 people
Orchard Cottage is a quaint but charming
venue with two en-suite bedrooms and an
open plan kitchen/living room which,
opens up onto an entertainment patio and
private garden. The cottage is self-catering
and not serviced. Should you require the
cottage to be serviced a daily cleaning rate
will be levied. Basic provisions such as
milk, tea, and coffee, are provided upon
arrival. This rustic but comfortable cottage
is most often utilized by the groom and his
groomsmen or extended family members.
Note: A Weber “braai”/BBQ is available with accommodation.
Charcoal is not included however; you will need to provide this
yourself if you wish to use this optional feature.
**Please note that there is to be no sleeping on sofas or on the
day bed. The extra bed in the sitting room can be made up on
request at a small additional charge.
3. ORCHARD COTTAGE
This accommodation is especially private
and tucked away on the edge of the main
house with its own private entrance.
Perfect for that much-needed time away
from the rest of the quests, and close
enough that you can still join everyone for
breakfast the next morning.
4. HONEYMOON SUITE
2 double en-suite rooms, sleeps 4 people

While not required, we recommendemploying the services of a weddingcoordinator. This is to ensure that alloutside parties are managed effectively,logistics are taken care of, final coord-ination is executed, and on-the-daymanagement handled.

CATERINGThe Goose Roasters & Salt and Pepper
Catering have been providing bespoke
private catering services at fabulous
events and parties of every description for
the last 15+ years. These suppliers thus
earned their position as our chosen in-
house caterers. Their philosophy and
approach to food is quite simple:
freshness, quality and seasonal produce.
Should you wish to bring in your own
catering supplier, an additional R10,000
kitchen rental fee will be added to your
account.

Our staff is comprised of well-trainedindividuals from surrounding farms. This isour way of giving back and supporting ourlocal community. The cost of set-up, break-down and service staff is charged at R60each per hour. Please contact us with yourevent details in order for us to give you anestimation of the cost. While we believe it is not necessary, you arewelcome to bring in your own service stafffrom Cape Town. If you choose this how-ever, an additional supervisor fee of R1,500will be charged to ensure that the staff isoverseen by an in-house staff member.
COORDINATION
STAFF
Damage of Rockhaven property, breakages,
and/or theft will be charged to the hosts of
the celebration at replacement cost per
item. In addition to this, please note that we
do not allow sparklers inside the venue.
BREAKAGES
Please make contact with Diamond Liquors with your
order and delivery instructions.
The venue can generally be made available
3 days prior to your event and 2 days after
your event. We prefer to set the tables by
14:00 on the day prior to the date of the
wedding/function, thus please ensure that
any table cloths or runners are delivered
before this time. Please speak to Liz in
advance should you or a third party
working on your behalf, have any special
needs with regards to deliveries, décor,
power, or access to the premises.
VENUE SET UP & BREAKDOWN BAR
We request that you try to arrange your
set-up’s during the week between business
hours 09:00 to 17:00. The venue will be
open during the day after your event from
08:00 till 12:00 for collections and/or break
downs, as well as during business hours
the first working day after the celebration.
On the day of celebration, the venue will
be open from 08:00 for set-up. Please note
that the venue closes promptly at 2am,
please make sure your DJ is aware of this
(last song at 01:55).
VENUE TIMES
EXTERNAL SUPPLIERSAs a seasoned industry supplier, we are
happy to share our extensive list of reliable
suppliers familiar with our farm. We are
also happy to introduce you to additional
accommodation options on neighbouring
farms. The Elgin Valley can accommodate
approximately 140 guests in establishments
to suit all budgeting needs.
PAYMENTS AND DEPOSITA R15,000 deposit payment is required
within 5 days of making the booking,
together with a signed copy of the venue
contract. Please note that your booking
will only be confirmed once the signed
contract has been received. The balance
payment of the venue package fee is
required 10 working days prior to the
event date.
Rockhaven does not have a liquor licenseand cannot supply alcohol. For yourconvenience, we do not charge corkage foralcohol and beverages brought onto theproperly. This is obviously a big saving forthe bar budget. We will gladly make sugges-tions of the excellent local Egin Winesavailable in our valley. Please note that thefee for barmen is charged separately at R70per barman per hour with a minimum of 2barmen per event. Rockhaven will supplyyour celebration with ice for an additionalseparate charge. Cost will depend on usage,up to a maximum charge of R600. Our localliquor store can supply you with alcoholicbeverages on a consumption basisproviding that the bottles are unopenedand labels undamaged. (Beers need to be ina full six pack.)
