St. Nicholas School November 2, 2018 Dear St. Nicholas Community, On Sunday, we had a good turn out for the Open House and painting pumpkins. The kids had fun painting their own pumpkins with their family. We had about 40 people show up for this event. I want to give a special thanks to Mrs. Wyman, Mrs. Wilkinson, Mrs. Nagel, and Mrs. Linwood for putting everything together. It was great to see some new families and some of our parents there as well. Grades 5 thru 8 students and teachers had a great time on Field Day on Tuesday. The students were able to play corn hole, giant jenga, ladder toss, washer toss, and lawn darts. The Rocket of the Month winners for RESPECT are: Hank Van Camp, Carter Van Handel, Calvin Schmidt, Solomon Jefferson, Lilah Van De Hey, Lilly Delforge, Michael Rew, Claudia Thompson, Adelyn Van Handel, Kaitlyn McGrath, Will Clark, Rebecca Rew, Abby Vosters, Max Ver Voort, Lauren Cropsey, Jordan Peters, Katelyn Van Handel, Chase Ver Voort, Tucker Brockman, Weston Konkle, Abby Bredael, and Meghan Meulemans. Dear St. Nicholas School Families,

Freedom has had a Girls on the Run program for four years. The program is for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade girls and takes place at Freedom Elementary. Each year, we’ve had St. Nicholas School students participate. The program incorporates a service project within the weekly lessons. So far, our team has sent boxes of supplies to soldiers, boxes of toys to Children’s Hospital, and last year they made fleece blankets for Harbor House.

This year the girls have chosen to make Birthday Boxes as their service project. These decorated boxes would contain all of the items needed for a birthday party. The boxes would be delivered to the area food pantries. In this way, families would be able to have a special birthday party that they may not have otherwise been able to have.

We are asking for donations for these boxes. We will have a box for donations set-up in the hall outside of the school office. We would be seeking donations of items such as: cake mixes, containers of frosting, sprinkles, birthday candles, small birthday paper plates, birthday cups, birthday napkins, birthday table cloths, small party decorations, and party hats.

If you can help us with donations, please send your items into school by Wednesday, Nov. 7th!

Thank you for your support! Adria Ponschock – 5th grade Makayla Evers – 4th grade Lydia Evers – 3rd grade Clara Conrad – 3rd grade Coach Liz Evers and the entire GOTR team
