Critically tensioning the rubber rands to cradle and support the forefoot allows the shoe to dynamically adapt to the changing foot while loading and unloading body weight, effectively storing and releasing power. The result is a new level of power and sensitivity for steep technical climbing. X-Tension System A critically tensioned rubber ‘X’ that cradles the forefoot and grasps the heel enhancing toe power – for climbers who like the maximum power and sensitivity concentrated under the big toe. V-Tension System Utilizing a full-length outsole with SCARPA’s active randing and a more extended toe position – for climbers who prefer performance with less pressure and compression in the toe area than the X-Tension System. Bi-Tension System Basically, a reverse slingshot rand that’s anchored under the critical toe area and connects directly to the heel rand—only there’s nothing basic about it. The patent-pending system actively pulls power from the toes, rather than cramming your toes painfully forward, giving immediate performance with less tension. And that means less rubber, making your shoes lighter, more sensitive and more reactive.
