Things they agree with, and things they don’t, or comments like - you need to do this or you need to do that. If you are not involved and try to make the club better by attending meetings and volunteering your time at events, then you are not correctly informed. I try to inform our membership on the good things that people do for the club but I also need to share the not so good things that some people do to our club and to our residents that call the club their home. What things? How about improper disposal of your trash and of your fishing line, killing of club animals and birds, destruction of club property, dumping of yard waste and construction materials on club grounds and not following club rules. WHAT? Why do I need to hear this? Well, the club only has one caretaker. Derek has a full time job, He also has family obligations. He is not paid. He can’t be patrolling 24/7, 365 days. If our members are aware of the things that a “few” members or NON members do, and take down their information, then Derek can investigate, and address the issue, or call in the authorities. Then maybe those few bad apples can be removed from the barrel. Club rules are established for a reason. They are common sense rules. Help our new caretaker and the club by observing, annotating, questioning, reporting and challenging anything you see that is not part of our club rules. The RICC Board of Directors will back you up. THIS IS YOUR CLUB! Help continue to make the RICC a safe and clean place to bring your families out for a great day, weekend, or week of fun. I am always open to new ideas, and suggestions. Food will be Brats, Hotdogs, German Potato salad, chips, cake?, and some authentic German/seasonal Biers, Hayrack rides. We will still have the silent auction, raffle, and some games for the kids. The German Society of Davenport will also be involved. Times will be from 11:00-4:00 OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. If you have a NEW item, Gift Certificate or Gift Card that would make a great silent auction item to donate to the club, please give us a call. Fall and Winter events— Jay Pienta 309-269-1226 or [email protected]

If you are interested in chairing an event, please give me a call. In the past we have had a Fall Party

and a Children’s Christmas Party. At this time we do not have any chairpersons to begin to plan these events. If you

would like to discuss, please call and we can give you some ideas of what was done in the past. If we do not have a

chairperson for these events, they will not go on. Money to put on the event can be appropriated by the board of di-

rectors and general membership.

RICC CARETAKER—787-4770 Derrek Beckhart

ATTENTION!

5th 1:00 p.m. Due to the Boys and Girls Club Fishing Rodeo.: the Main Lake Area, and the Horse

Shoe Lake area. NO CAMPING or FISHING will be allowed on the Main Lake Area or the Horse Shoe

lake areas during this time period due to the stocking of the tagged fish, Setup, and Use of grounds

for the Rodeo. Club grounds will be patrolled 24 hours until the Rodeo is over at 1:00 p.m. on Satur-

day August 5th. All camping and fishing for members will need to be done using the West Lake Area..

Gates will be closed on the main roads around the Main Lake areas during this time. Members will

need to use the blacktop roads to get to and from the West Lake if camping or fishing. I would highly

suggest that you purchase an entry to the Rodeo since I hear the top prize IF you are lucky enough to

catch the right fish is a 2018 HONDA SUV. Also many other chances to win other prizes. Sounds fun!
