Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is hosting a free robotics workshop day at the Caboolture campus on Saturday 17 th September 2016. Students, teachers and parents can register for fun robotics workshops using Ozobots, LEGO WeDo 2.0, Bee Bots, LEGO Mindstorms EV3 and NXT. Workshop options are available for all ages from 4 years old and all levels of robot experience. Workshop places are likely to fill quickly so email [email protected] now with your name, school, age, workshop choice and time to secure your place. Parents/guardians are required to remain either as a registered participant or observer. The local scouts will be holding a sausage sizzle on campus and all registered workshop participants will be provided with a voucher for a free sausage sandwich and drink. Robot enthusiasts of all ages are welcome to join in the fun! Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is hosting a free robotics

workshop day at the Caboolture campus on Saturday 17th September 2016.

Students, teachers and parents can register for fun robotics workshops using

Robot City (EV3)

Ages 8+, Beginner

1 hour workshop (11:15am or 1:15pm)

Work together with a committee to build a

BIGGER and BETTER city. Build roads to connect

all parts of the city together and watch as your

robot navigates its way through the city streets.

Silly Walkers (EV3)

Ages 8+, Beginner

1 hour workshop (11:15am or 1:15pm)

Can you design a robot that moves without wheels?

Build and program a robot that moves the fastest, or

take on the extra challenge and make a robot that

can go up a ramp or over obstacles.

RoboCup Readiness (EV3)

Ages 10+, Intermediate

1 hour workshop (11:15am or 1:15pm)

Clear the cups, pursue and capture your opponent,

or rescue the victim. Learn to use sensors, loops

and switches to solve the challenges.

Green City Challenge (EV3)

Ages 10+, Intermediate

1 hour workshop (11:15am or 1:15pm)

Help make Green City energy efficient by

programming your robot to activate wind

turbines and set up solar panels. Save Green City

from flooding by blocking a hole in the city dam.

FLL: Animal Allies (NXT)

Ages 10+, Advanced

1 hour workshop (11:15am or 1:15pm)

Hosted by FLL team “NSI”

Tackle some of the challenges in this year’s FLL robot

game with mentoring by an FLL team of high school

students. Collaborate with students from other schools.

Learn how to use switches and MyBlocks.

WeDo 2.0

Ages 5-12, Beginner

1 hour workshop

(11:15am or 1:15pm)

Meet the latest LEGO robots

offering for primary aged

students. Build a robot using the

new WeDo 2.0 kit and program it

using the iPad.

and make sounds. A great

introduction to robotics for our

younger visitors.

Ozobots

Ages 6+, Beginner

1 hour workshop

(11:15am or 1:15pm)

Meet one of the world’s smallest

programmable robots. Use

coloured markers to program

Ozobot to solve some tricky

challenges.
