In the next 30 years, 75% of the fastest growing occupations will require

STEAM-related skills. Mastering STEAM-related skills is essential for

students to become innovative job creators in our fast-changing society.

The ability to harness STEAM skillsets will define 21st century leaders.

STEAM education is cross-disciplinary. Robotic education is the best

pathway for implementing STEAM education. As an extension of in-class

learning, the OneWorld Robotics Competition challenges students to apply

STEAM-related skills through robotics to solve real-world problems. The

competition inspires students to develop critical thinking and creative

problem solving skills, engage in collaborative teamwork and utilize effective

communication, all critical to students’ future success.

It is our great pleasure to announce the OneWorld Robotics Competition.

We would like to invite you, your students, and your school to participate

in this unique and exciting international competition. Open to all Australian

secondary school students in years 7, 8 and 9, the OneWorld Robotics

Competition brings together schools from all over the globe.

Built on the foundation of Dr. Tony Wagner’s

Seven Survival skills, the OneWorld Robotic

Competition offers students the opportunity to

develop and apply these critical survival skills in pursuit

of solving real-world challenges we are facing right now.

Solution categories may cover one or two of the following areas:

SOLUTION

MEDICINE

AGRICULTURE

SMART CITIES

ENERGY

OCEAN POLLUTION

CLIMATE CHANGE

CATEGORIES

All participants’ efforts will be recognized. Students will be awarded

certificates of participation recognizing the commitment and teamwork

required in the months of preparation leading up to the competition.

The winning OneWorld Global team will receive a monetary prize of

USD 5,000. Winning teams in Future Skills categories will receive USD

1,000 for each category. The winning team at each area competition

will be awarded a full robotic learning classroom set including

hardware, software and professional development.
