Roberto P. Medina was born 56 years ago in Budapest, Hungary, and grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He came to the USA in 1978, and has been a Tampa resident for 20 years. His interest in photography dates back to his childhood when he used to play with his mother’s Rolleiflex, and became crystallized in his youth, when he briefly worked as a professional photographer. He is currently a Cardiologist practicing in North Tampa. Roberto had a couple of shows of his travel photography at University Community Hospital in North Tampa, and some of his pictures are on permanent exhibit at the Hospice building in Jacksonville, Florida, as well as at the HeartCare Institute in Tampa. In July of this year, he had a very successful exhibit entitled “Fabulous Florida Birds” at the Lotus Room, in Tampa. He likes to have complete control of the artistic process, from the capture of the image, through the processing and printmaking. His photographs have been praised for the uniqueness of his vision, and the painterly feeling of his prints.The photographs shown here are unique, archival giclee prints done on Arches paper with pigmented inks, measuring 24x30” each. They are double matted on a museum-quality board, and are signed and numbered, limiting each picture to an edition of no more than 25 signed and numbered prints. They sell for $300.00 each.
