Licensed architect, gained Ms.Arch. after studying at the University of Catania developing a 80m-long yacht using Grasshopper 3D as final thesis project. Since then started my personal research in

algorithmic generative design, taking part to workshops in Italy and abroad.Developed a strong interest in designs’ digital visualization, which grew exponentially making

renderings for university fellows and architects with several softwares (Cinema 4D, Rhinoceros, 3D Studio Max, V-Ray), working with BIM since 2007, and experimenting the use of innovative

technologies, such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), in the architecture field.

ExperiencesArchitect (2019-Ongoing)

Mario Cucinella Architects, Bologna, ItalyDeveloped a custom Grasshopper script to mass model a new urban

scale masterplan, checking if the surface amount responded to client’s requests and exporting data to Excel right from the same script

[880000 sqm/740 mln €];Optimized a multi-storey residential building façade using Grasshopper,

which helped to survey the 16887 ceramic pieces needed, exporting the data to Excel and then using pivot tables to present the data

[9000 sqm/1.5 mln €];Developed a shape changing 3D façade linked to environment

analysis to gain maximum indoor comfort trhoughout the year for a multi-storey office building in Milan using Grasshopper

[12000 sqm/10.8 mln €] Modelled a multi-storey residential building in Revit

[29000 sqm/30 mln €]; Applied the use of XREF, custom CTB and Publish function to speed up

building permission technical drawings issues for a multi-storey residential building in Milan;

Supported the BIM coordinator improving Revit families and checking the model using schedules;

Modelled in Rhinoceros suites for a hotel in Sicily using the History command and Grasshopper to speed up tasks. Also used Rhinoceros Layer State

Manager to create different options of the same design [300sqm].

Architect (2017-2019)

Archea Associati, Florence, ItalyArtistic supervision of a winery building site in Russia

[120 mln €];Created a Grasshopper script to divide 5000 sqm corten roof into given

dimensions panels; Revit modelling of a winery in Russia, mastering basic and intermediate

functions in 6 months and also developing Revit families;Given contribution to a winery in Russia Design Development using

Rhinoceros and AutoCAD;Created a Grasshopper script to generate complex wooden boiserie for a

project’s clubhouse in Russia;Compiled a Grasshopper script to model a fully parametric tile which will be

used in a project in Durazzo;Modelling a shipyard in Rhinoceros 3D from 2D floor plans. Created and

applied a script in Grasshopper to evaluate external skin steel structure weight, ropes’ length, and then the total cost;

Florence’s Ex Borsa Merci (Old Commodity Exchange) modelled in Rhinoceros from 2D floor plans. Created a Grasshopper script to automatise slab holes modelling, which could have been a repetitive and tiring task, due

to interior’s peculiar layout.
