P R O F I L E I am a Major in the United States Army, where I have served in the Field Artillery and as a specialist in Operations Research and Systems Analysis. I hold degrees from the University of Kansas, Oxford, and Columbia. My research focuses on the fusion of the social science literature, field experience, and military expertise.

E X P E R I E N C E Instructor, United States Military Academy, West Point, NY — 2012-present Redesigned West Point’s Advanced Introduction to International Relations course; advise cadets competing for Truman, Rhodes, and Fulbright scholarships; selected for the Dean’s Thayer Scholars Program development committee; selected for Dean’s Regionally Aligned Studies group; supported Prevent-Shape cell at the Army Winter Wargame.

Senior Maneuver Advisor / Executive Officer, 0321 MiTT, Tal Afar, Iraq — 2007-2008 Advised an Iraqi Infantry Battalion of over 600 soldiers on urban counterinsurgency; coordinated live-fire exercises and tactical training, assisted with IED disarmament, and participated in variety of combat and humanitarian missions throughout the area of operations.
