RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

CodeCraft School of Technology 2016 A training program with over 700 hours hands-on project-based training in full-stack web development. Software Apprentice ● Developed a dynamic app, custombrewpro.com, built on my passion for homebrewing. Designed

wireframe using Sketch and developed minimum viable product incorporating entire MEAN stack. The main functionality is driven by AngularJS with creative parallax and flip box styling.

● Collaborated with small developer team on hackathon project with the end-goal to develop an interactive tool that would allow students to improve their coding fundamentals. We used the agile principles to measure and facilitate development of the MVP, starting with ideation through to a working prototype.

Innovation Lab 2013 – 2016 Economic development and empowerment center dedicated to assisting entrepreneurs and career professionals acquire technical and critical skills to stay competitive in the workforce. Start-up Manager / Small Business Consultant ● Launched new innovation lab that served over 1,000 participants in first year of operation. Oversaw all

program responsibilities including: technical, operational, staffing, and budgeting (500,000) ● Led innovative pilot program that was showcased at Clinton Global Initiative America 2015 for outstanding

development of entrepreneurs. ● Transformed 30% decline in career program attendance into 20% increase in three years by overhauling

program strategy to align with changing demographics and community goals.

including Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Yemen. ● Created interactive office tools such as cloud-based spreadsheets to manage projects, onsite deliveries,

work and travel time sheets. This effectively enhanced customer-user interface and improved overall customer service.

● Contributed to organizational assessments covering process flow and departmental improvement that led to more effective staffing support, operational readiness, and rapid program.

PROJECTS

Custom Brew: As an avid homebrewer, I created a site where users can choose a beer based on their preference in color, bitterness, and alcohol-by-volume using dynamic sliders for each category. Depending on the configuration of the sliders, the algorithm I created uses the Pythagorean theorem to narrow their choice down that most closely matches their preferences. The collection of beers is programmed using MongoDB, while the main functionality of the site is driven by Angular 2 (RC5), Express, Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript, HTML / CSS. The Code is Right: Our team developed an interactive tool called The Code is Right, based on the popular game show, The Price is Right, whereby the user is presented with one snippet of code at a time and they are expected to drag and drop that snippet into one of three buckets (CSS, HTML, or JavaScript). A collection of code snippets was stored in MongoDB, with JSON acting as primary transmitted from server to front end, along with JavaScript, Node.js, HTML, CSS, and Express. github.com/rohernan76/trtl

AmoMiColombia.com: As a freelancer web developer, my target customers are small businesses who either require a website to conduct their business or are in need of an overhaul for an existing website. AmoMiColombia.com is a website I am developing from scratch that, largely developed in WordPress, is designed to host images of various products that the entrepreneur is currently selling. The e-commerce component drives the main functionality of the site. I am also learning PHP such that I can modify the boilerplate templates and plugins that don’t provide all of the functionality that the website demands. Using Sketch, I provided the client with a wireframe and with her feedback started to develop the MVP. The current working functionality of the site includes creating an account for a new user, logging in, maintaining a history of favorites, and tracking purchasing history. This website is pointed to my server on DigitalOcean.
