1 ROBERT E. LEE HISTORY Robert E. Lee High School has a rich history and heritage that makes it the most unique high school in San Antonio. Since it opened in 1959, the Volunteers of Robert E. Lee High School have distinguished themselves in academics and athlectics, with a long history of success that has followed its graduates around the world. In addition to the many professional athletes who once walked the Hallowed Halls, Lee alums have also gone on to distinguish themselves in medicine, journalism, the practice of law, teaching, theater, marketing, ministry, military service and many other professions. While many have made their mark in places like New York and Los Angeles, any list of community leaders and shapers in San Antonio is not complete without several Lee graduates included. Today, the Lee Campus is the home to two distinguished high schools - Robert E. Lee and The International School of the Americas (ISA), as well as two top ranked magnet programs - The North East School of the Arts (NESA) and The Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Academy (STEM). All the students of Lee, ISA, NESA, and STEM represent Lee in their extracurricular activities, making our sports teams, band, ROTC, and other groups the most eclectic in all of San Antonio. While this sort of diversity would prove to be a challenge at other schools, we have found a way to forge a unity that works for the good of all of our students and community. We’re excited about the promise of the 2015-16 school year and look forward to maintaining the excellence that has always made Robert E. Lee High School the “Home of Champions.” We invite all current students, parents, alumni and community members to join us in this adventure. Go Vols Go!

To the Friends of North East ISD,

Welcome to the start of another great school and athletic year.

North East ISD is committed to providing opportunities to students in a variety of extracurricular activities. Participation in athletics is one of the key components of our District’s 360-degree philosophy.

Our athletic program nurtures students of all abilities, while emphasizing the importance of teamwork, problem

solving, time management and responsibility. We strongly believe that these skills are fundamental to building great students, as well as successful adults.

Needless to say, none of what we have in place would be possible without the support of our friends and family. Our Lee athletes are a reflection of their community, and you can always be counted on for your strength and dedication to our students.

Thank you for all you do. Let’s have a great year!

LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL

L

Robert E. Lee High School “Embracing our Past, Building our Future.” The students, faculty, administrators and staff of Robert E. Lee High School would like to welcome you to Comalander and Heroes Stadium. We attend today’s game to honor and celebrate the efforts of all students involved. We also have come to show our appreciation of our students’ dedication and determination required to be a participant in today’s activity. Our appreciation extends not only to our students but also to the

parents, coaches, sponsors, teachers and all those involved in promoting this activity. Both teams and schools have prepared, through many hours of practice and drill, to do their very best. In addition, character and sportsmanship have been taught and will be demonstrated today by all participants. Please remember, no matter the outcome of today’s event, it is important for us to show continuous, positive support for our teams and our students. Prior to this exhibition, individual and team goals have been set and this event should serve as a step toward achieving them. This also represents a chance for our students to show what they have learned and achieved. It is our goal that each and every student involved today be able to exit the field confident that they have given their best effort. As parents, fans and coaches, that is all we can ask. Good luck to both teams and thank you for attending today’s game. Please have a safe trip home. Sincerely,

Nicole Franco
