Unit 13 WebsiteI created a website in ICT which was

about Video Games and the like. It had videos, games, a working search bar, information and a functional hot bar.

The target audience was people my age of both genders who had an interest in

gaming. To make the site more interactive I included widgets and games on different pages. I used Serif WebPlus x6 to create the website as it allows me to preview and publish the site directly from the

program. I started off with a basic idea and layout which evolved into what it is

now, I made a storyboard on PowerPoint to plan the look.

This is useful as it shows that I can be creative and have experience in creating

websites and using a variety of programs.

the website I created.

There is a gallery,Working search

bar and a hot bar.

When the photo is clicked it will take you back to this

page.

Photo editing/PhotographyI have quite a lot of experience in Photography and Photo Editing for my age. I have had my own camera for a couple of years and am taking Photography as a GCSE next year. I have also practiced editing photos on a number of different programs and I fully understand how colour correction, brightness, contrast, hue and many other adjustments can help improve a photo, add ambience and convey different feelings and moods. This is useful as it shows that I know how to improve things, work with a variety of different software and hardware as well as notice the subtle things that could be better.

Basic Animations and Video Editing

I have some experience in the editing of videos including: transitions, colour correction, brightness and syncing audio to the clips. The content and style varies as it depends on the mood or the atmosphere that I want to convey through visual cues. I use Sony Vegas to edit as its more advanced than the very basic Windows Movie Maker but not too complicated as I am still learning. I often start with an idea and recording the clip before I begin editing and I make some short ones to practice with. I hope that one day I will make a fully edited video with amazing effects and adjustments that lasts over 20 minutes long. I enjoy doing this as it is a great way to pass the time, its fun and you get a rewarding end product most of the time. One difficulty is when files corrupt and you have to start from scratch all over again.

PowerPointsI have created a number of PowerPoints in my lifetime so have a lot of experience and knowledge about them. I understand that PowerPoints that are being used for presentations shouldn’t have everything you are going to say on the slide as people can anticipate what you are going to say beforehand. So in order to stop this you only put key words and images that relate to the topic on slides. However, when presenting to a younger audience I know that more information and transitions between slides catches their interests. I also know most of the little tricks and hidden bits in the program.
