We want forever homes for the dogs we bring into this world and do our best to place them into nurturing homes. We want our dogs to be loved, cared for, enjoyed, and endeared by the family that is selected. We want to do our due diligence by asking some personal questions and if we feel you are a suitable homestead family, then we will work with you to match a pup to you based upon the information given. So please answer honestly and in detail as much as possible.
1. What is your prior animal experiences that you have had with dogs, cats, and livestock?
2. Why do you want a farm collie?
3. Check all that apply. What will the dog be used for? Companion working chickens/ducks working sheep/goats rescue work therapy
4. What are the ages of your family members in household and who would be regular visitors?
5. What would you consider to be the temperaments of each person in your household (dominant, submissive,aggressive, passive, provocative, easygoing)?
6. Do all members of your family want a puppy at this time?
7. Who is the primary care giver, and who will be the primary disciplinarian, trainer of the pup?
8. How do you plan to keep the pup from wandering off?
9. Where will the dog sleep?
10. Where will the dog be during the day/who will be home and at what times?
11. How will you exercise the dog (hiking, herding, daily walks...)?
12. What will the dog's diet consist of? Indicate brand you plan to use.
13. What method do you plan to use to housebreak your pup?
14. Does your lifestyle include travel which might necessitate leaving your dog in a kennel? If so, for how longand how many times a year?
15. What other pets do you have? Please list sex, age, breed and if they are neutered/spayed or in tact.

18. The age of a dog more commonly seen in shelters is between 7 and 14 months of age. What is yourcommitment on dealing with the challenges often present during this age?
19. What is your opinion about vet care? Do you think it’s needed? If so how often?
20. Does having hair in the house bother you? Farm collies do shed heavily in the spring and fall.
21. If you are interested in a pup that has the working instinct for working on a small hobby farm … do youhave a herding group that is local? If so give name, website, facebook and instructor.
22. What is your opinion about spaying and neutering?
