REFERENCES

“Rob is honest, hard-working, and extremely reliable, with an endless enthusiasm for the work or challenges presented to him. He is very pro-active in the development of both himself and the players in his charge, and I would fully support any application by Rob for employment in a coaching position.”

Steve Rutter - Panathinaikos FC Assistant Manager

“There are few people I know with Rob’s combination of skills: his exceptional knowledge of football as a whole in addition to his proven understanding of physiology. Using this, he is able to apply what he knows about functional fitness to the training pitch. Rob is always enthusiastic and has a lovely manner when working with young players while remaining completely professional to never compromise his position, in turn earning their respect and loyalty.

Having worked at every level from grass roots to the Premier League and international football, Rob has all the experience and attributes necessary to succeed in the game, and he is the kind of person I would have no hesitation in employing as a coach.”

Simon Smith - England U19 Coach

“Rob is a knowledgeable and open-minded professional who has provided an invaluable contribution to the England youth setup since he started working with the squads. He his diligent, self-motivated and applies himself 100% to his work.

Rob is a people person who has shown his ability to understand players and work well with them, earning their trust by going above and beyond the call of duty. He is someone that I am able to confide in and draw advice from on player personalities, as he spends so much time with them and is able to effectively judge their characters. Rob is articulate, able to reason, and brings valuable opinion to all discussions on the teams and players.”

Kenny Swain - Former England U16 Head Coach

“I’ve known Rob for over 15 years since I first worked with him at Stoke City where I was first team manager. Rob was a really enthusiastic coach with all the players, and though he was mostly doing physiotherapy work with them, he would use the ball with them all the time so they would come back prepared for play. Rob is great to be around and is extremely intelligent; he picks things up so quickly, and given the calibre of the coaches he’s worked with, will have undoubtedly learnt a lot.

Rob will always add his own spin and personality to sessions though and is always willing to help everyone he works with as much as he possibly can. I can say without a doubt that Rob will make a great coach as he has so much to bring to the game.”

Brian Little - Former Stoke City FC Manager

“Rob is held in very high regard within the England youth setup as he is a conscientious and 100% trustworthy professional. Rob has travelled with the teams on numerous occasions to tournaments at home and abroad, and what has always stood out is his man management and dedication to putting others first for the success of the team.

Rob assists with the coaching as and when required, and is constantly taking notes and asking questions on the sessions, something which I think illustrates his thirst for knowledge and dedication to advancing his capabilities.”

Noel Blake - Former England U19 Head Coach
