Thank you for taking the time to review our sponsorship proposal. We ask that you please keep this info private and only share with those that are in charge of making sponsorship decisions within your business, thank you.

What is ROAR?

In it’s 2nd year, ROAR in the City- Really Outrageous Urban Adventure Race is a team challenge that raises money for the 501(c)3 nonprofit UpaDowna. This event encourages participants to travel by foot or by bicycle to various stations around Downtown Colorado Springs where a challenge of brawn or brain will await them. There is also a Photo Scavenger Hunt Challenge where participants are encouraged to take team “selfies” outside of, or inside of, sponsoring businesses in order to mark the task off of their list. (See photos above)

New in 2015:

This year, the event is open to all ages including family teams. To make it family friendly, we have made registration prices affordable. For example, during early registration, a family of 5 would only cost $85. That comes out to $17 a person. There are also two routes this year, a short and long, as well as the theme of “Prehistoric Party”!

Who is UpaDowna?

UpaDowna's mission is to provide access to outdoor adventures for all through events and programs that empower individuals, create healthier communities, and foster a respect for the environment. We host over 100 free programs a year that encourage the community to explore the outdoors with us in a safe, fun, and educational environment. ROAR helps to fund our annual outdoor program efforts.

“I've participated in several events

like this…”…(i.e. Oyster Race, Denver Challenge

Nation) and this was hands down the best one. It was extremely

well organized, staffed, great ideas for activities

that were not just physical but mental as

well while getting me to see some parts of the

Springs I've never seen. Great event - looking

forward to next years!”

“I loved that it was nothing like what is normally offered around here!”

Why should I be a sponsor?

Unlike an event based out of one location, ROAR is unique in the fact that it will take place in numerous city parks, as well as pass through Downtown Colorado Springs. This race course is designed to support businesses by encouraging event participants to come to YOU and either participate in an activity or take a photo there. Supporting businesses also have the opportunity to be recognized and showcased by being listed on our banners, flyers, posters, brochures, website, registration site, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Sponsors at any level are welcome to have a booth at our check-in/after-party site as well as have the opportunity to sign up for a complimentary team, thus giving them another way to “be seen” at the event.

What do sponsorships entail?

The ROAR can create a checkpoint specific to your company/brand/product, or feature a checkpoint at your business location (if along race course).Product PlacementPut your product in racers’ hands for great experiential marketing before, during or after the race. Pre- and Post-race patronageRacers are encouraged to check out sponsoring businesses before and after race with coupons/gift cards. Tagged in all forms of marketingDedicated eblast features, social media, mentions on website, registration site, print and race materials. On site presence on Race DayInteract with racers by having an exhibit space after the race, display banners, or product placement.

*Hosting an activity depends on location to race route. If business is not along course, you can still host an activity at a park. ROAR volunteers can run the activity at your business. You have the choice to provide staff to help ROAR volunteers run the activity at your park location.-Custom opportunities are available for our most generous sponsors and provide unique and effective mechanismsfor supporting your marketing and philanthropic objectives. For example, title sponsor of proprietary sub‐event: i.e.“Subaru Super Volunteer Corps”, “CityROCK 'n Roll After Party”, “Bristolitious Beer Garden”, “King Chef Snack Table”, etc.
