EVERETT WATERFRONTFor the history buffs, Everett is home to 14properties listed on the National Register of

fabulous waterfront views and deliciousseafood. On Sundays, don't miss the Farmers
Market at Boxcar Park, and in the summeryou can even catch a movie over the water at
Sail in Cinema.
SEATTLE PREMIUM OUTLETSGear up for your trip at the Seattle Premium
Outlets, featuring a collection of more than 130shops. The unique outdoor setting is a rare findin Washington, just remember to bring a warmjacket for the occasional rain shower; or buy anew one there. You'll need to dress the part in
puffy vests and Gore-tex in the PNW.
SKAGIT VALLEYEvery April, Skagit Valley is home to the famous
Tulip Festival, celebrating millions of tulipsbursting into bloom. Not visiting in the Spring?
'Tulip Town' is still a worthy destination any timeof year. Stop off at the coastal town of La
Conner, a combination fishing village and artists’colony, and home to eclectic boutiques, art
galleries, museums, and a wide variety ofculinary experiences.
SAN JUAN ISLANDSFidalgo Island is the gateway to the world-
famous San Juan Islands. In Anacortes, you canhop a ferry to explore the 172 islands that make
up this breathtaking archipelago. For aquintessential PNW experience, scope out orcasfrom Lime Kiln Point on the namesake San Juan
Island, peruse yachts and watch the ColorsCeremony at Roche Harbor, or slurp fresh
shucked oysters at Buck Bay Shellfish Farm onOrcas Island.
LAKE WHATCOMTake a little detour to make a splash at LakeWhatcom. Rent a pontoon boat and cruise
around the lake or take a dip at Bloedel DonovanPark. Be sure to visit nearby Whatcom Falls Park,
best known for its namesake waterfall, but alsooffering miles of serene, forested trails and a100-year-old railroad trestle standing silently
over Whatcom Creek.
DECEPTION PASS Deception Pass is Washington's most-visited
state park for a reason. Mysterious coves, ruggedcliffs, jaw-dropping sunsets, and a unique highbridge make this park a must-see. You can fish
and swim in Cranberry Lake, look for shells alongmiles of beachfront, and trek through forests and
bluffs. You may even see a whale or a family ofseals as you gaze on the wild waters that once
challenged early explorers.
CHUCKANUT DRIVEThe only place where the Cascade Mountains
meet the sea, the 21-mile Chuckanut Drivescenic route overlooks Samish Bay and offers
gorgeous views of the San Juan Islands andChuckanut Bay. Take a hike up past the tree line,or down to a white-sand beach. The scenic route
to Semiahmoo makes for great adventures atstops like Oyster Dome hike, Larrabee State Park,
and Taylor Shellfish Farms.
HISTORIC FAIRHAVENThe Historic Fairhaven Village is a charmingcommunity on the south end of Bellingham
where you’ll find locally owned boutique shops,fine dining, curated art galleries, and outdoor
activities aplenty. The Fairhaven Village Greenpark hosts seasonal live music, outdoor movies,and annual festivals. Stop by Fairhaven Fish &Chips for lunch and a soft serve before getting
back on the road.
BIRCH BAY STATE PARKAlmost there! Stop by Birch Bay State Park in
search of wildlife. This 194-acre park has miles ofsaltwater shoreline and during the low tide, you
can find a treasure trove of clams and othershellfish that can be harvested in season.
LYNDEN FARMS & ORCHARDSVisit Bellewood Farms, a family-operated apple
farm and distillery. During harvest season,explore the orchards and fill up a bushel of
UPICK apples. Then grab a snack and cider atthe Farmstore and taste award-winning spiritsat their “farm-to-glass” distillery. For an extra
special family experience, visit during theholidays for magical, festive events.
MT. BAKERA bit of a diversion from the route, but
completely worth it! Take the Mt. BakerHighway from Bellingham, winding through
farmlands, rolling wooded hills, and smallcommunities before bringing you to the
majestic peak itself. In the winter bring yourskis and hit the slopes. In the summer embark
on a hike with awe-inspiring views, werecommend Ptarmigan Ridge or Chain of Lakes.
BELLINGHAM TAP TRAILBellingham is known for its unique culture,
museums, and restaurants, but may be mostfamous for its beer! Hit the Tap Trail and taste
your way through some of the best breweries inWashington. Don't miss fan favorites Aslan,
Wander, Boundary Bay, and Twin Sisters. Need abreak from beer? Check out Bellingham CiderCompany for a delicious brunch or Kombucha
Town for lunch and kombucha tastings.
PEACE ARCH PARKYou'll have to backtrack a bit for this one, but
you'll be glad you did. Peace Arch is uniquebecause it actually consists of two parks in two
countries. The southern half of the park is in theUS, and the northern half in Canada. The Peace
Arch was constructed to honor the centennial ofthe treaties resulting from the War of 1812. Takea stroll through the lush gardens and take in the
view of Point Roberts and Vancouver Island.
