hello again! i am so excited to share this part of the road trip with you all. it was a very meaningful part to daniel & me, as it was the confirma-tion of our wedding venue. we felt pretty certain that zenaida cellars was our spot, but we didn’t know for sure since it had been 7 years from our last visit... well, my friends, i am happy to

tid.bitsRustic & Refined... As perfectly stated in the adorable little drawing, Paso Robles is a well-balanced blend of a little bit rustic and a little bit refined... located just inland of the central coast of California, Paso Robles {English translation: oaks pass} is bustling with vineyards, olive trees and pure California beauty. Come and explore with us! We’ll give you a taste of a few of our favorite spots, old & new and...a {big} sneek peak of our wedding venue!!!

Our first winery stop! Once they found out that we were looking at Zenaida for our wedding, they totally tried to sell their spot on us...it was pretty, but just not our spot. It confirmed Zenaida even that much more for us :)

we heart it all , especially the citrus!

This was our first experience with olive oil tasting. There were little spouted casks that

each held a different olive oil...some were one pure olive, others were blends and

there were a few citrus infused blends. You pour a little drizzle of oil into a small paper

cup and either drink it straight or grab a little bag of bread bits to dip. The flavors change

drastically depending on the type of olive... some are more peppery, others

more sweet... It truly is like tasting wine. I 100% recommend this experience

psst! they make soaps & lotions, too!

“because you are one of the cool kids”

Two very fine winemakers share one property. Though this was our first tasting with Lone Madrone & Kenneth Volk, Daniel and I have fond memories here...it was once Bonny Doon winery {a favorite because they had - still have- some of the most amazing wine labels with lovely stories behind each one}. We found out that there was a fire that burned the tasting room down and because their vineyard was not located there, they had no real ties and therefore up & moved to Santa Cruz. Well, I am happy to report that Lone Madrone & Kenneth Volk have kept the integrity of the original relaxed, fun vibe of the property...chickens, goats & all!

“ceremonial oak tree”... this will

be the back drop as we say our

vows

Daniel & I first visited Zenaida Cellars for his 24th birthday with a group of our closest friends, where we stayed in the loft accomodations above the tasting room. It is a small, sustainability-practicing family owned vineyard. Everything about Zenaida just adds up for us...it is absolutely perfecf for the event we wish to throw!

the fabulous barrel room: the cause of an october wedding turning into an august wedding... can’t you see why?! {i , of course forgot to take my own photos of it, but this one set up for a wedding gives such a real & beautiful perspective.

Daniel & I are definitely foodie lovers... my goodness, we have lived in Seattle for the past 71/2 years...if we were not foodies, we would be in trouble! So, with that said, we love trying out new foods, restaurants...you name it! Artisan was recommended to us for a fine-dining experience in downtown Paso Robles. We decided to check it out.Overall, our experience at Artisan was okay. Here are my recommendations - Do: olives, succotash, saffron seafood dish {it’s just a little on the salty side}Don’t: lamb {really gamey}What I would really recommend: Marv’s Pizza delivered straight to your winery loft, like we did the night before!
