2. Testimonial of Good Character available in the Office or Bar Confidant or with the BOC

Are there default professors who will fill out testimonials of good moral character? No. Bar candidates must personally request the professors to fill out their testimonials of good moral character.

Is there a required minimum number of years of membership in the bar for those who will be asked to execute a testimonial of good character? No. The Bar Bulletin simply said “any member of the Philippine Bar.” However, when asked whether the recently admitted members of the bar can execute a testimonial of good character, the Office of the Bar Confidant had conflicting views on the matter. The SecWel suggests that the testimonial be executed by those who have been members of the bar for a year now (i.e. passed the 2014 Bar Examinations and admitted to the Bar in 2015.)
