accurately. By using our reference numbering
system, errors can be avoided thus ensuring
that the right products are delivered to the
correct address.

A range of high performance general
road lanterns suitable for either side
entry or post mounting. Available in two
body sizes to accommodate a range of
tubular high pressure sodium discharge
lamps (70W/100W: 150W/250W) for
road lighting installations to BS5489.
Recommended mounting heights
5m to 12m.
Featuring:
• Hydroformed one piece reflector in
high purity aluminium, chemically
anodised and brightened. Computer
designed for optimum light control.
• Die-cast aluminium canopy finished
light grey polyester powder coated.
(RAL 7035).
• Removable pre-wired control gear
tray of galvanised sheet steel.
• Vandal resistant polycarbonate bowl
with snap-fit side catches for quick
and positive sealing to IP65.
• Re-positional steel column clamping
bracket for side entry or post top
fixing.
• Optional photocell control via Nema
socket.
• Integral or remote control gear.
• Flat glass versions available for all
models 70W to 250W.
Glass secured by 3 captive thumb
screws. (See 3.5)
• Integral control gear sealed to IP33.
Lanterns may be installed as side-entry or
post mounted, as appropriate.
To access the lamp compartment, release
the two snap-fit side catches and front clip.
The retained bowl lowers for lamp
replacement.
Lower the gear compartment cover for
access to the removable control gear tray (b).
Post mounted lanterns may be set to
either 5° or 15° angle of tilt using the
elevation clamping plate supplied (a).
Side entry lanterns are mounted 0° or
15° angle of tilt.

Light emittance not affected at shallow angles
The optical system provides themaximum luminous utilisation withminimum light pollution. The curved tempered glass bowlimproves performance by up to 5%in comparison with traditional flatglass lanterns. The curved glassallows unaffected lighttransmittance at shallow anglesclose to the lantern rim.

The “Road Optic” provides long
spacings between columns, whilst
achieving good levels of Luminance and
Luminance uniformity over the roadway
in accordance with BS5489.
Urban Optic
Alliance’s unique “Urban Optic”, offers
the designer the opportunity of a
decorative road lighting solution.

Hassle free maintenance
Lamp Replacement
Access to the luminaire for lamp
replacement or maintenance is achieved
without the need for special tools. Simply
unlock the front latch (Fig 1) & lower the
lower body until it is engaged by the
stainless steel stay hinge.
When fully opened (50°entrance angle)
there is easy access to all internal
components for quick maintenance
(Fig 2). Access to the lamp is achieved
by a quarter turn "twist lock" of the lamp
holder outer casing.
Control Gear
The electrical control gear tray is located
within the upper body casting, attached
via a quick release catch system, for
ease of maintenance (Fig 3).
Mounting Options
AL6800 series standard connection for
either post mounted or side entry.
Diverse range of alternative bracket
fixings and designs available to suit
prestigious applications.
