• Driving is a complex process that involves severalperceptual and motor tasks

• All over the world India bangs the top most positon inaccidental deaths. Nearly 1.2 lakh of people killedevery year on Indian roads

• Rollover accidents are now responsible for almost 1/3of all highway vehicle occupant fatalities

• Rollovers tend to be more serious than other types ofaccidents. For light trucks and SUVs the percentageof occupant fatalities associated with rollovers isabout 50%. For heavy trucks the number is about60%.

• The common causes for vehicle accidents are driverdistraction or negligence, urban location-heavily populatedareas or small areas with insufficient transport facilities, vehicle handling problem and weight distribution problem.

• Accident in road curve mainly occurs when the centrifugalforce is more than the direction and momentum force whichmakes the vehicle to move in a straight line instead of curvedpath

• Under estimation of speed in curved roadways maybe a contributing factor necessitating speedadjustment and thus causing fatal and serious injuryaccidents in curves especially in heavy vehicles.

• As the result of approaching sharp curves withoutrealizing that current speed is dangerous to passingthrough the curve, when driver fails to deceleratewhile just realizing that, the driver feels a tensemoment and traffic incidents may occur.

• while taking a curve three types forces are involvedthey are directional force momentum force andcentrifugal force. Centrifugal force comes into playwhen you're rounding a curve. It tends to pull yourvehicle out away from the inside edge, regardless ofwhich direction you're traveling.

• If a car on the "inside" lane of a curve tries to navigatewith too much speed, centrifugal force will pull it awayfrom the center and potentially, into the path ofoncoming traffic.

• Or, if a car is travelling with too much speedfrom the other direction--in the "outside" laneof a curve--centrifugal force will pull it out tothe right and off the roadway.

• Our main aim is to reduce the accident by intimatingthe driver about the load carried on vehicle and alsodecelerating automatically when displacement sensordetects turns and bends.

• It is done by reducing fuel flow to the engine inaccordance with load carried on the vehicleautomatically.

• This gadget includes load sensors, displacementsensor, engine control unit and camera which canfunction at all environmental conditions withrecording system.

• The load sensor calculates the load carried by thevehicle and the displacement sensor will calculate thedistance of the road curve and engine control unitreceives the information from both sensors anddeaccelerate the vehicle accordingly.

• The type of displacement sensor we are going touse is ultrasonic sensor which can accuratelyerect the object and measure the distance betweenthem by transmitting a short burst of ultrasonicsound toward a target.

• When the sound is reflected, it returns to thesensor as an echo. The distance between theultrasonic linear position sensor andis calculated from the signal's return time.

A variety of materials can be measured, including transparent andReflective objects. Measurements are performed with nocontact, so even highly-viscous liquids are no problem. Since thesensor use ultrasonic sound it is not affected by the colour of theobject .

• Speed sensor used here for velocity measurement purpose.

• Wheel speed sensor or vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is a type oftachometer which is a sender device used for reading the speed ofvehicle on basis of wheel rotation

• The speed values derived by the speed sensor is used by the enginecontrol unit in order to generate command to reduce the vehiclespeed accordingly.

• Load sensors are introduced in the vehicle to calculatethe total load carried on the vehicle. The load sensorsare kept at the place where the chassis and the vehicleframe are in contact.

• This calculation will be done in a periodical time sothat the gradual derived results are noted down andthen they are sent to the engine control unit.

• The load/weight data obtained from the sensor showsthe pressure generated on the spring which are resultedfrom the distance changes from the suspension systemof the vehicle.

• Day/night vision camera can produce a clear image in total darkness

• This technology allows objects hidden behind obstacles such as smoke, fog or even plywood to be captured as live, moving images so this helpsthe driver to drive flawless in all conditions.

• Roll over prevention meter has a engine control unit in which all abovesensors and camera (load sensor, speed sensor, displacement sensor & nightvision cameras) are interfaced.

• The function of the sensors are controlled by the engine control unit.

• This device gets activated when displacement sensor find a road curveahead the vehicle and the information from the three sensors are processedby the engine control unit.

• While taking curve the speed of the vehicle is more than the speed requiredfor taking curve the engine control unit will automatically reduce the speedby decreasing the fuel flow rate supplied from the tank to the engine.

• It also alerts the driver in form of LED lights and buzzers.

• Analysis and design of rollover meter is presented. Theproposed system is used to avoid various road curveaccidents which are caused due to speeding and loss ofcontrol.

• This system will sense and measure different parameters likeroad curve distance, load on the vehicle, and speed of thevehicle.

• The above measures parameters help to reduce accidents inroad curve. Thus, it makes the public transport moreefficient & effective.
