RnB Music Video Survey Results:

We questioned 10 males and 10 females so that our results would be valid. This would also

give us a more varied range of answers as both genders have a say. This means we can do a

better job at making our music video appealing to both genders.

We focused mainly on the age groups 16-25 as that is our target audience. However, we

also got a few ideas from the other groups of ages to make our results fair and have a choice

of ideas and comments.

As evident from the graph above, most people thought that the music video is very

important to a song. Therefore, we must make sure that it suits our song choice and that it

is done to the best of our ability.

The majority of the people that were surveyed found Beyoncé’s music entertaining. This

means that we have chosen a good song which is likely to attract our target audience.

Question five:We had a range of answers as we gave the audience a chance to be open

in this question. As a result, it allowed us to see their opinions and use them in our music

video. Some of the comments that stood out to us were: that Beyoncé was portrayed to be

attractive and we will therefore make our actress look as similar as possible, that there was

a lot going on in her videos which made it entertaining and that there was a story that went

with most of her songs.We have planned for these three factors to beincluded in our music

video. This is a good sign as we want to be pleasing our target audience as much as possible.

85% of the people surveyed agreed with us in saying that a narrative based music video

would be the best idea for a song about love and relationships. This is a positive sign again

as we have planned for a narrative based music video and the song of our choice is about

love and relationships.

Most people thought that a performance based video is best for Beyonce’s songs. However,

we chose a narrative based music video as this is a slow song and therefore doing a

performance wouldn’t seem right. This is why we chose to do a narrative based music video.
