A demonstrated understanding of business development processes, marketing strategies and an ability to effectively network are essential qualities of the person in this role. A self starter, who generates leads and then follows up on every lead is required. Travel within the defined geographical area and back to the State’s Head Office will be necessary in this role. The Business Development Manager’s core function is to generate commencements through new prospect host relationships based on targeted industry sector groups as determined by their manager. The activity functions are and not limited to new sales visits, cold calling, telesales, relationship management and relevant administrative tasks. Selection Criteria:

exceptional skills in Business Development and the creation of placements for Australian Apprentices

ability to effectively market and promote MEGT Recruitment and Management Services to industry stakeholders

demonstrated advanced Networking skills dynamic, driven, and sales focused ability to present in a professional, confident and friendly manner, both in person and over the

phone, including ‘cold calling’ an autonomous, self starter with the ability to motivate other staff outstanding communication and inter personal skills minimum of intermediate level of skill with Microsoft Products

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes:

exceptional proven business development and networking skills outstanding communication and interpersonal skills strong work ethic with excellent role model characteristics ability to motivate Industry Employment Consultants (IEC) to follow through on leads generated, and

report back outcomes confident and articulate cold caller, both in person and on the telephone able to address audiences of prospective employers to sell the Recruitment and Management

Services concept effective networker with representative bodies of employers current driver licence self motivation as well as a motivator ability to convert into placements of Australian Apprentices dynamic and sales focussed, driven to develop the Recruitment and Management Services

business well developed IT and written skills, including the ability to use Powerpoint, Excel and Word to help

deliver MEGT RMS’ message confidently and professionally excellent presentation with a professional, confident and friendly image mature approach with tact and diplomacy when interacting with clients and staff.

Responsibilities and Duties:

In the role, you will be required to:

develop and implement sales and business development plans in order to win the business of employers, large corporate clients and referrals from RTOs

promote MEGT RMS within the defined area of responsibility and facilitate the take up of apprenticeships and traineeships by employers

demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and the drive to win new quality business for MEGT RMS be a self-starter who can efficiently manage time frames; initiate new marketing concepts and

coordinate streamlined servicing arrangements deliver sales/corporate presentations to new and key corporate clients in coordination with

Area/State Managers and Industry Employment Consultants in conjunction with Area/State Managers, develop national communication strategies to ensure that

all RMS staff are aware of our new clients and their individual servicing arrangements2

develop and implement strategies to identify underserviced current and new clients, and ensure clients are serviced wherever possible across regions and disciplines

work cooperatively across the MEGT Divisions to raise the profile of MEGT Recruitment and Management Services and implement successful and beneficial linkages within the region to provide MEGT clients with a ‘one-stop-shop’ service wherever possible

ensure marketing databases for the promotion of MEGT activities are maintained and assist with the organisation and operation of various promotional events

assist Area and State Managers to analyse and review the Recruitment and Management Services marketplace to determine client needs, competitive point of difference and the activities of competitors.

Key Performance Indicators:

These measures will act as a guide for management in determining the Business Development Managers actual performance to KPI measured against the below weekly KPI targets. In addition to regular weekly discussions on progress against target with the line manager, an annual review will be conducted to determine ‘on the job performance’. This annual KPI review will form part of a consultative review of your overall performance in general encompassing all requirements of the position description as a minimum.

Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Responsibilities:

All staff are required to take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of other personnel who may be affected by their conduct.

Police Check:

This position is required to undertake a National Police Check and any State/Territory Working with Children Check (where applicable). The National Police Check must be renewed every 2 years from the date of the initial check as a minimum.
