RUTH BAILEY Ruth Ann Bailey, 70, wife of John C. Bailey, died Sunday, July 8, 2018, at her residence. Born Jan. 31, 1948, in Mer- cer County, she was the daugh- ter of the late George and Nona Louallen Jenkins. She was a member of the Benton Baptist Church, was a beautician and was retired from Modine Manufacturing. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include: one daughter, Crystal (Bryan) Nevius and one son, John Paul (Amanda) Bailey, both of Har- rodsburg; three sisters, Violet Abrams of Danville and Treva Hill and Jane Browning of Harrodsburg; five grandchil- dren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, George Jenkins Jr., and two sisters, Josephine Cook and Thelma Jenkins. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 11 at the Alexander & Royalty Fu- neral Home with Dr. Kenneth Whitehouse officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Born Nov. 25,1939, in Har- rodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Chesley and Marga- ret Fowler Grimes. She was a bookkeeper for the State Division of Collec- tions, Broaddus Department Store and the Beaumont Inn. Survivors in addition to her husband include: two sons, John M. Brock of Harrods- burg and Mark (Debbie) Brock of Independence, and three grandchildren, David Brock, Nicholas Brock and Andrew Brock. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Ste- phens and Linda Holtzclaw. Funeral services were held Friday, July 6, at St. Andrew Catholic Church by Father Al DeGiacomo. JOHN CARTER John T. Carter, 78, of Har- rodsburg, husband of Donna Mae Richmond Carter, died Friday, June 29, 2018, at the UK Medical Center, Lexing- ton. Born Nov. 3, 1939, in Har- rodsburg, he was the son of the late Elmer and Velma Kurtz Carter. He was an archeologist for the State of Kentucky, in the surface mining department, served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Harrods- burg Historical Society, the Webb Society and the Inven- tors Society. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include: three daugh- ters, Helena Ann (Charles Warner) Penn of Lexington, Karen Denise (Robert) Fallis of Columbus, OH, and Patri- cia Jo (Geoffrey C.) O’Nan of Versailles; one son, Thomas Allen Carter of Lexington; one brother, Daniel (Diane) Carter of Harrodsburg; nine grand- children and nine great grand- children. He was preceded in death by one son, Beau David Carter and one brother, Harvey Cart- er. Funeral Services were held Monday, July 2, with Terry Morrison officiating at Rans- dell Funeral Chapel, Harrods- burg. RONALD COATNEY Ronald Keith Coatney, age 66, of Lexington, husband of Linda Shifflett Coatney, died Thursday, July 5, 2018, at the University of Kentucky Medi- cal Center in Lexington. Born March 4, 1952, in Carlisle, he was the son of the late Lester Warren and Agnes McKenzie Coatney. He was a graduate of Har- rodsburg High School, re- ceived his bachelor’s degree in law enforcement from Eastern Kentucky University, was a real estate developer and was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church. Survivors in addition to his wife include one sister, Dana (Garnie) Yeager of Harrods- burg, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jackie Myers Coatney. There are no services planned at this time. DAVID COLLIER David T. Collier, 72, of Harrodsburg, widower of Pa- tricia Sallee Collier, died Mon- day, July 2, 2018, at the Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Born Dec. 7, 1945, in Mer- cer County, he was the son of the late William Talmadge and Rachel Annelle Baker Collier. He was the current pastor of the Grace Baptist Church, a retired computer system analyst with IBM and a re- tired purchasing administra- tor and inventory analyst with Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center and was a Mercer County High School graduate and attended Lex- ington Bible College, Moody Bible Institute and Pace Uni- versity of New York. Survivors include: two sons, David Wayne Collier and John Thomas Collier, both of Harrodsburg; one sister, San- dy Sanders of Harrodsburg; one aunt, Barbara Green; one uncle, Fonnie Baker of Har- rodsburg, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Vina Boyd. Funeral services were held Friday, July 6, at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Kent Clark, Mark Williams and Bro. She was a state govern- ment worker and a member of the Burgin Baptist Church. Survivors include: two sons, Michael (Lauren) Fee- back of Lexington and David W. Feeback of Burgin; two daughters, Teri Feeback of Harrodsburg and Sandi (Doug) Parkey of Crossville, TN; one brother, Gary (Ruth) Sharp of Elizabethtown; one sister-in- law, Janice Feeback of Frank- fort, and several nieces, neph- ews and cousins. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 7, at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Sharon Bailey offi- ciating. A family memorial ser- vice was held on Sunday, July 8, at Southside Christian Church. CECIL WEBB JR. Cecil “Sonny” Henry Webb Jr., 88, widower of Myr- tle Bates Webb, died on Mon- day, July 2, 2018. Born May 26, 1930, in Wise, Virginia, he was the son of the late Cecil Henry Webb Sr. and Beatrice Hylton Webb. He was graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, received a master’s degree in chemistry from Purdue Uni- versity and retired from the former cabinet for human re- sources as a branch manager in the laboratory services divi- sion. Survivors include: two sons, Cecil (Hank) Henry Webb III (Charlotte) of Frank- fort and Jonathan (Teresa) Webb of St Louis, Missouri, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, William Webb. Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri. Born March 4, 1961, in Woodford County, he was the son of Howard Richard Lane of Harrodsburg and the late Helen Mae Robinson Phillips. Born July 29, 1943, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Marvin and Beulah Roberts Montgomery. He was a retired Kentucky Utilities E.W. Brown Plant em- ployee, was a member of the Burgin Baptist Church, Mer- cer and Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association and the Southeast Kentucky Tractor Club. Survivors in addition to his wife include: three daughters, Rebecca J. (Darrell) Under- wood of Boyle County, Vickie C. (Gill) Lay and Kimberly R. (Terry) McCowan, both of Mercer County; three sons, Terry L. (Robin) Montgomery, Johnny L. (Barbara) Mont- gomery and Michael K. Born Jan. 16, 1935, in Middletown, OH, she was the daughter of the late Mitchell and Inez (Ross) Center. She was employed at Kentucky State University, at Daynabrook Nursery and was a local volunteer for the Ameri- can Cancer Society. Survivors in addition to her husband include: two daugh- ters, Vivian (Randy) Horn and Cynthia (Curt) Ransdell and one son, Keith (Gail) Perrin, all of Harrodsburg; one sister, Betty (Gordon) Shrout of Eu- less, TX;10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Jo Warren. Funeral services were held Friday, July 6, at Mt. Pleasant Church officiated by Derek Baker and Rollin Tarter. Burial was in the Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery. He was preceded in death by one son, Keith Goodlett; one daughter, Melissa Hart-man; three brothers, Allen, Alvin and George Edward Goodlett, and one sister, Sar-ah Margaret Hurst.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 8, at the Alexander & Royalty Fu-neral Home with Lynn Rel-eford and Michael Conover offi ciating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Andrew Gamble, Gabriel Gamble, Adrian Stephens, Michael Royalty, Andrew Rice, An-dres Lopez and Josue Lo-pez. Husband of Jean Freeman of Harrodsburg, died Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at his home.

Born May 2, 1948, in Middletown, OH, he was the son of the late Floyd and Edith Freeman of Athens.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include: one daugh-ter, Tammy (Shawn) Hicks of Cincinnati, OH; four sons, David (Angie) Freeman, Jim-my (Lynette) Freeman, Billy (Laurie) Freeman, all of Har-rodsburg, and Johnny (Kristi) Freeman of Parksville; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

A family memorial ser-vice was held on Sunday, July 8, at Southside Christian

Church.

CECIL WEBB JR.Cecil “Sonny” Henry

Webb Jr., 88, widower of Myr-tle Bates Webb, died on Mon-day, July 2, 2018.

Born May 26, 1930, in Wise, Virginia, he was the son of the late Cecil Henry Webb Sr. and Beatrice Hylton Webb.

He was graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, received a master’s degree in chemistry from Purdue Uni-versity and retired from the former cabinet for human re-sources as a branch manager in the laboratory services divi-sion.

Survivors include: two sons, Cecil (Hank) Henry Webb III (Charlotte) of Frank-fort and Jonathan (Teresa) Webb of St Louis, Missouri, and fi ve grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, William Webb.

Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.

Phillips, died Thursday, July 5, 2018, at the Ephraim McDow-ell-James B. Haggin Hospital in Harrodsburg.

Born March 4, 1961, in Woodford County, he was the son of Howard Richard Lane of Harrodsburg and the late Helen Mae Robinson Phillips.

Survivors in addition to his wife include: one daughter, Erica Danielle Powell of Har-rodsburg; one son, Derek Wes-ley (Leslie Ann) Lane of Stan-ford; one sister, Cathy (Mike) Worthington of Harrodsburg; two half sisters, Jennifer Gail Mason of Bardstown and Rita Graham of Danville; a half brother, Ivan Burton Phillips of Burgin, and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, John Wesley Lane, two half brothers, Phillip Lane and James William Phil-lips, and one half sister, Susan Clarkson.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 7, at Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Harold Best and Andy Mikels offi ciat-ing. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

July 2, 2018, at the Select Spe-cialty Hospital of Lexington.

Born July 29, 1943, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Marvin and Beulah Roberts Montgomery.

He was a retired Kentucky Utilities E.W. Brown Plant em-ployee, was a member of the Burgin Baptist Church, Mer-cer and Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association and the Southeast Kentucky Tractor Club.

Survivors in addition to his wife include: three daughters, Rebecca J. (Darrell) Under-wood of Boyle County, Vickie C. (Gill) Lay and Kimberly R. (Terry) McCowan, both of Mercer County; three sons, Terry L. (Robin) Montgomery, Johnny L. (Barbara) Mont-gomery and Michael K. Mont-gomery, all of Mercer County; three sisters, Donna (Donnie) Tatum, Barbara A. (Joe Mike) Hawkins and Edna G. (Henry) Gross, all of Mercer County; one brother, Kenton (Jewell) Montgomery of Mercer Coun-ty; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 5, at Rans-dell Funeral Chapel with Carl McRay. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Harrodsburg, wife of David L. Perrin, died Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at the Ephraim McDow-ell-James B. Haggin Hospital in Harrodsburg.

Born Jan. 16, 1935, in Middletown, OH, she was the daughter of the late Mitchell and Inez (Ross) Center.

She was employed at

Kentucky State University, at Daynabrook Nursery and was a local volunteer for the Ameri-can Cancer Society.

Survivors in addition to her husband include: two daugh-ters, Vivian (Randy) Horn and Cynthia (Curt) Ransdell and one son, Keith (Gail) Perrin, all of Harrodsburg; one sister, Betty (Gordon) Shrout of Eu-less, TX;10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Jo Warren.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 6, at Mt. Pleasant Church offi ciated by Derek Baker and Rollin Tarter. Burial was in the Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: David Curtis Ransdell, Justin Horn, Heather Dugger, Chris Horn, Darren Ransdell, Hillary Cheek, Kimberly Jones, Al-lyson Johnson, Lora Shotts, David Warren and Lane Horn. Honorary pallbearer was Wayne Horn.

CHARLES SIMSCharles Walker Sims, 87,

of Harrodsburg, husband of Martha Wilson Sims, died Thursday, July 5, 2018, in Harrodsburg.

Born July 28, 1930, in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Goodloe and Eliza-beth Jordan Sims.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, was a self-employed truck driver and was a member of the Grapevine Christian Church and Fellowship Baptist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include: one daugh-ter, Linda Kay (Joe) Cooley of Versailles; two sons, Kenneth Wayne (Johanna) Sims of Har-rodsburg and Keith W. Sims of Walton; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Sims.
