T3. OBJEITIVXS U! TA5K 37 AR TO LOCATE, EXAMINE, AND PROPERLY CLOSE WELLS ONRMA THAT MAY BE ALLOWING, OR COULD POTENTIALLY ALLOW, MIGRATION OF CONTAMINATIONFROM UPPER AQUIFERS TO DEEP AQUIFERS. THE TECHNICAL APPROACH WAS STRUCTURED INSUCH A WAY THAT UNUSED WELLS WERE CLOSED ON A PRIORITIZED BASIS ACCORDING TOPOTENTIAL TO ADVERSELY IMPACT DEEP AQUIFERS. THE STUDY AREA WAS LIMITED TOTHOSE AREAS OF RMA THAT ARE WITHIN OR DOWNGRADIENT OF POTENTIAL SOURCES OFCONTAMINATION. A TOTAL OF 39 WELLS WERE CLOSED UNDER TASK 37. CLOSURE METHODSFOLLOWED STANDARD PROCEDURES IN CURRENT USE.
