Instructions for authors
General considerations
Romanian Journal of History and International Studies publishes peer-reviewed
empirical, theoretical and methodological articles, as well as book and article reviews, onvarious subjects regarding international relations or related fields such as modern and
contemporary history, political science, international law, european studies, security
studies, political philosophy.
The editorial staff takes no responsibility for unsolicited materials which are not reviews
or research papers or are not part of the manuscripts received.
RJHIS invites the authors to submit manuscripts to the editorial office. The articles must
meet a set of rules of editing and writing specified below. The manuscripst must be free
of all references to the author’s identity.
The manuscripts should be original contributions which were not previously published or
have been under consideration for publication in any other journal or edited collection.Papers should be clear, and grammatically correct.
Manuscript formatting
Reviews and research articles should be written in English. Article manuscripts should be
approximately 4000 and 8000 words, no more than 25 pages long, including notes,
bibliography or annexes. In the same time, book or article reviews should not exceed2000 words.
The article manuscripts should include an abstract of maximum 200 words and about 5keywords, both in English and placed before the introduction of the paper. The abstract
it’s supposed to refer to the aim of the paper, methodology, findings or main conclusions,
and will be rendered in italics, justify, single-spaced, font 12.
The articles will be edited using Microsoft Office 2003, 1.5 spacing, Times New Roman,
font size 12, justify. If an article contains graphs, tables or images, they will be sent in.jpg format along with the manuscripts.
Manuscripts will be sent by e-mail at the editorial office address, mentioning for RJHIS,
in two copies. One of the copies should not include any information that identifies theauthors. The second one must contain contact details, including e-mail address and
telephone number. Also, the second copy should be accompanied by a three to four line
biographical sketch which may include author’s current affiliation, degree held, researchinterests or previous publishing activity.

Specific editing procedures
Data about the author will be listed on the front page of the manuscript. The biographicalinformation will be integrated later in the manuscript by the editorial staff and mentioned
in the Notes on contributors section of the journal.
The body of the manuscript will begin with the second page. The title should be centered,
using bold capitals, font 16. Headings should be ranged left, to a paragraph away from
the body of the paper, using font 12, bold capitals. They should not be numbered.
Graphics, images or tables within the manuscript must be accompanied by a heading
above them and numbered in Arabic numerals. Source will be mentioned below the
figure in the left corner.
For underline use italics or bold only. Words in another language than the manuscript
will be highlighted using italics. Pages should be numbered consecutively using Arabic
numerals in the footer.
The references, which include only endnotes and bibliography, should use the Oxfordreference system (http://www.lc.unsw.edu.au/onlib/refbib.html). Chicago or Harvard
systems are not accepted. For further details please follow the instructions on how to edit
notes and bibliography.
Peer-review process
All manuscripts submitted will undergo an anonymous peer review process. Themanuscripts will be evaluated by at least two scholars, members of the Advisory Board of
the Center for International Relations and Diplomatic Studies, highly-qualified in thefield covered by the paper.
The author's identity will not be disclosed in order to ensure an honest evaluation of manuscripts to be published. The main evaluation criteria are scientific rigour, originality
and potential interest for public review. If a manuscript is accepted, the editorial staff
reserves the right to require changes in both form and content, when deemed necessary.
Publishing
The authors whose works are to be published in RJHIS and those whose manuscripts
were rejected after the peer-review process will be notified by e-mail about the decision
taken by the evaluators.
The peer-review process may take about two months, while the editing and publishing
process can take between one and two months. The journal is published in both print and
online versions. Auhors will receive a pdf copy of their paper.

Authors are the solely responsibles for the content of their own paper. Copyright will beheld by both authors and the Center for International Relations and Diplomatic Studies
(CRISD).

author with several works cited, use the author's name accompanied by a shortened formof the title and page (e.g. C. Kegley, World Politics ..., pp.78-80.). Also, when using
electronic resources, the online address has to be mentioned at the end of the reference
without hyperlink.
Endnotes must be single-spaced, Times New Roman, font 10, justify.
The bibliography must be edited at the end of the manuscript in alphabetical order of the
author’s name and title work:
