OTTUMWA-Opal May Belger, 95, of The Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa, died at 6:27 p.m. November 20, 2012 at Ottumwa Regional Health

Center.

She was born May 23, 1917 in Ottum-wa to John Henry Olden and Edna Bivens Swearingen. She married Chester “Dutch” Belger on October 10, 1937. He precede her in death

Our Condolences to Opal Belger’s Family

December 11, 1997.

A graduate of Ottumwa High School and Ottumwa School of Beauty, Opal owned and operated Opal’s Beauty Shop from 1948

to 2010.

She was a member of First Pentecostal Assembly of God.

Surviving is a daughter, Charoleatta (Jerry) Zwer of Ottumwa; two granddaughters, Cheri Pickrell and Sheli Zwer both of Ottumwa; two great grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren and a neph-

ew, Pete Swearingen of What Cheer.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Bernard Lee Belger; a granddaughter; brother, Melvin Swearingen and a

half-brother, Edwin Swearingen. Her body has been cremated.

Memorial service was 5 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2012 at First Pentecostal Assembly of God with Rev. Richard Schlotter

and Pastor Jane Shroyer officiating.
