Brisbane is one of the country’s major business hubs, with huge resource sector investments and a thriving services industry positioning the City for significant growth over the next two decades.

The State’s strong economic outlook will continue to drive a buoyant real estate market, with suburbs close to major centres of employment well placed to benefit.

INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENT

Kingsford Smith Drive Kingsford Smith Drive is a major riverside arterial and a link between the Brisbane CBD and the Brisbane Airport. The new $4.8 billion Airport Link tunnel provides residents with an alternative route to the airport, reducing riverside congestion along Kingsford Smith.

Extensive upgrades of Kingsford Smith are planned, and promise to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow. Pedestrian and cyclist access will also be greatly improved with the addition of dedicated lanes and links to Brisbane’s RiverWalk.

Brisbane City Council’s River Edge Strategy The Rivers Edge strategy represents a new vision for the Brisbane riverfront. It includes plans to extend the RiverWalk pedestrian and cycle network through Hamilton with new pathways following Kingsford Smith Drive towards Northshore Hamilton.

The extension significantly extends the network and provides pedestrians and cyclists the means to explore the City and river all the way to the inner-western suburbs. Popular destinations like New Farm village, Oxford Street Bulimba, and Boundary Street West End are within arms reach.

Opened in 2006, the state-of-the-art terminal facility enables an easy cruise to popular East Coast destinations like Sydney and the Whitsunday Islands. The versatile port accommodates large ships and luxury liners of up to 270 metres in length.

NEWSTEAD RIVERPARK & GASWORKS

Newstead Riverpark is one of Brisbane’s most anticipated urban renewal projects and is located only a few kilometres from central Brisbane. Gasworks, a mixed-use development combining premium residential and commercial space with boutique retail and dining, sits at the heart of the thriving Riverpark community.

Part of the $1.1 billion Gasworks development, the new Gasworks Plaza offers an exciting blend of specialty shops, food markets, restaurants, and cafes that unfold around a huge public plaza. At its centre lies the spectacular heritage-listed outer frame of the original Gasometer. An abundance of green civic space, and connections with riverside access points including the city’s extensive cycle networks and ferry terminals, make Gasworks Brisbane’s new inner-city destination.

PORTSIDE WHARF

Portside Wharf is a world-class international cruise terminal and popular wining and dining precinct on the Hamilton waterfront.
