WELCOME TO CHATTANOOGASite of the 2011 RiverRocks Southeast Wilderness Medicine Conference and one of the best places to live and play in the USA.

WhiteWater and FlatWater Paddling Blessed with many of the now-famous “steep creeks” within a 30 minute drive of downtown, the city also sits less than a one hour drive from the put-in on the Ocoee River where the 1996 Olympic Kayaking event took place. Flatwater paddling surrounds Chattanooga with nightly sunset paddling on the Tennessee River downtown.

rock climbing “Dixie Crags” surrounds the city with world class climbing in places like the Tennessee Wall (T-Wall) and Sunset Rock which inspired Rock & Ice Magazine to declare Chattanooga the #1 Climbing Town in the US in 2009.

mountain biking In 2010 the city added 2800 acres in Enterprise South Park to be devoted to new trails which augment the already famous Raccoon Mountain Trail system and the Cloudland Connector system on Lookout Mountain.

caving There are more than 7000 caves within an hour’s drive of Chattanooga ranging from wild, expert caving to guided wild caving to commercial caves.

hiking and trail running With 54 trailheads within 30 minutes of downtown Chattanooga, you can hike or run hundreds of miles in sight of downtown.
