DESCRIPTION
Abstract Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) have been highly vulnerable to attacks due to the dynamic nature of its networkinfrastructure. Among these attacks, routing attacks have received considerable attention since it could cause the most devastatingdamage to MANET. Even though there exist several intrusions response techniques to mitigate such critical attacks, existing solutionstypically attempt to isolate malicious nodes based on binary or naıve fuzzy response decisions. However, binary responses may resultin the unexpected network partition, causing additional damages to the network infrastructure, and naıve fuzzy responses could lead touncertainty in countering routing attacks in MANET. In this system, we propose a risk-aware response mechanism to systematicallycope with the identified routing attacks. Our risk-aware approach is based on an extended Dempster-Shafer mathematical theory ofevidence introducing a notion of importance factors.

Risk-Aware Mitigation for MANET Routing Attacks
Abstract
Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) have been highly vulnerable to attacks due
to the dynamic nature of its network infrastructure. Among these attacks, routing
attacks have received considerable attention since it could cause the most devastating
damage to MANET. Even though there exist several intrusions response techniques to
mitigate such critical attacks, existing solutions typically attempt to isolate malicious
nodes based on binary or naıve fuzzy response decisions. However, binary responses
may result in the unexpected network partition, causing additional damages to the
network infrastructure, and naıve fuzzy responses could lead to uncertainty in
countering routing attacks in MANET. In this system, we propose a risk-aware
response mechanism to systematically cope with the identified routing attacks. Our
risk-aware approach is based on an extended Dempster-Shafer mathematical theory of
evidence introducing a notion of importance factors. In addition, our experiments
demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach with the consideration of several
performance metrics.

What is IEEE?
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers or IEEE (read eye-triple-e) is Incorporated in the State of New York, United States. It was formed in 1963 by the merger of the Institute of Radio Engineers (IRE, founded 1912) and the American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE, founded 1884). A membership organization comprised of engineers, scientists and students that sets standards for computers and communications. It is a nonprofit organization with more than 365,000 members in around 150 countries.
The IEEE describes itself as "the world's largest technical professional society -- promoting the development and application of electro technology and allied sciences for the benefit of humanity, the advancement of the profession, and the well-being of our members."
Why IEEE based projects?
It grantees for standard
It assured latest solution for problems
It delivers new patented technologies at an ever-increasing pace
It access world-class technical information provided by the IEEE and cut down your
research time.
