Section 2 – Assessing the Risks

1. Hazards that may cause harm

2. Who may be affected

3. Controls that are used to reduce risk 4. Additional measures that need to be done

Falling Down the Stairs Actors and Cameraman

When doing films in the dark we need to make sure that the actors do not fall down the stairs so when doing these scenes the cameraman will have a torch at hand.

Torch at hand Make sure the stair way is clear

Tripping over objects in the house – shoes, clothes etc.

Actors and Cameraman

Make sure that the surrounding filming area is clear so that the actors have nothing to trip over.

Make sure there is a good amount of space when filming

Finger trapped in doors Actors and Cameraman

When shutting doors in the house we need to be careful that actors will not have their hands or fingers trapped in the door.

Make sure door ways are clear when shutting them

Smashing Windows when filming for the window scene

Actors When filming for the hand and window scene I will have to be careful for to hit the window too hard when putting my hand on the window.

Make sure the actor doesn’t hit the window hard

Objects falling from the roof and hitting actors when filming the panic scenes eg. Shower Curtain rail

Cameraman When filming the panic scenes the shower curtain rail falls from the roof, we need to minimise the risk of this hitting the actor so to do this there will only be one actor in the room and he will be stood at a good difference

Take extra care when creating the fall of the objects.

Tripping over tripod Actors and Cameraman

Tripod will be in use whilst filming so actors will have to be careful when filming not to trip over the tripod

Also must make public aware of filming
