The Ripley Police Department has 9 full-time officers as well as one full-time secretary. The City of Ripley is a great place to live and raise a family. The Police Department, under the direction of Chief R.L. Fridley, takes pride in serving the com- munity and the people of West Virginia. The office is located on the downstairs floor of City Hall and the business hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. The phone number is (304)- 372-4711. The City of Ripley is fortunate to have an out-standing and dedicated group of volunteers who serve on boards and commissions and also assist departments with specific projects from time to time. Working together, we can all make our com-munity the best it can be. If you are interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities with the City of Ripley, please contact our office at (304) 372-3482.

The City of Ripley Business Office is located upstairs at City Hall at 203 S. Church Street. The phone number is (304) 372-3482. Water, sewer, and resi-dential garbage service applications are received dur-ing the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Property owners applying for water or sewer service are not required to pay a deposit for these services. Customers who are renting prop-erty are required to pay a $50 deposit prior to their service being connected. Water and sewer rates are based on gallons of water used. The minimum bill is based on 2,000 gallons. A copy of the most recent Ripley Waterworks Consumer Confidence Report can be downloaded at the City web site www.cityofripley.org or a copy can be obtained at the treatment plant. Customers desiring either a new water or sewer tap will need to contact the Busi-ness Office to make application. Residential garbage service provided by the City includes once a week curbside pickup for a monthly charge of $16.25. The City of Ripley encourages recycling. Recycling bins are located just off Miller Drive in West Ripley at the back gates of the Sewer Treatment Plant. Participation in recycling is on a voluntary basis. The City of Ripley accepts online bill payments.
