World news:What titles has Andy Murray won in 2016?

Andy Murray has become Britain's first world number one tennis player, knocking Novak Djokovic off the top spot. Take a look at his incredible 2016. Andy Murray has become Britain's first world number one tennis player. He won his first title of 2016 by beating then Serbian world number one Novak Djokovic 6-3, 6-3 in the Italian Open final. The final was actually held on the 15 May, which is Murray's birthday. What a way to celebrate! In June, the Scot became the first man to win the Queen's Club title five times. He beat Canadian Milos Raonic 6-7 6-4 6-3 in the final. Giant earthworm is the largest ever found in the UKA giant earthworm named Dave has wriggled into the record books as the largest ever found in the UK -measuring a whopping 40cm (15.7in)! Experts at the Natural History Museum said they were "bowled over" by the size of the worm. It was found in a vegetable plot in Widnes. The worm was found by Paul Rees and given the name 'Dave' by his stepson George. The worm weighed 26g which is about the same as a small chocolate bar.

Wellington News:Year 5 workshop on their topic Vikings

This week Year 5 were very lucky to get more information for their topic Vikings, with a visitor from Chertsey Museum. They gained a lot of information in this as well as having a lot of fun. Samira, in Aspen class stated ‘We were so lucky to be able to learn more info in this instead of having a lesson on it.’ From hearing this, Year 5 must have enjoyed this a lot, hopefully they will be able to do things like this again in the future. Thanks to all the teachers and staff of year 5 who organized this.Aspen class assembly

This week Aspen produced a useful assembly on Remembrance Day to give us information on what it is about. It was a marvellous experience for all of Wellington to learn about the past memories. Mannat and Bushra, in Year 6 stated, “It was a marvellous assembly for all of us to enjoy and observe the knowledgeable information. Not to mention the Class Assembly was in my view a rating of 5 stars.” Thanks to Mr Berryman for organizing this.

Hundreds of little devils, witches, zombies and pumpkins enjoyed the thrill of Halloween at the Treaty Centre in Hounslow.
