Fencing, including an apparent entryway, on grounds near main building at Gray Crag (Parkway in background, top photo).

Smaller foundation remains near main building. Small concrete rectangle on ground next to foundation (possibly access to water valve, or similar?)

In the woods near the Parkway, a fire hydrant. Beside it, a piece of slate. Beneath the slate…

Near the Parkway, masses of piping and brackets, some it fastened to wooden posts. Possibly part of the greenhouses?

For comparison: the greenhouses on the estate of Dr. Ernest Cadgene, several miles south on the Palisades in Englewood Cliffs, and a contemporary of Ringling’s.

Top: Bricks near the Parkway, amid non-native vegetation; partially buried flywheel in foundation of main house (possibly associated with elevator?).

Bottom: Remains of footbridge from main house across crevasse to “Gray Crag” promontory. (Wooden veneer now missing, though some wooden handrail supports remain; also missing, seemingly, are several large stones on east end of bridge, presumably knocked into crevasse when veneer was dismantled.)

On “Gray Crag.”

Painted mortar on rustic stairs at north end of “Gray Crag” (possibly part of the “cabana” structure visible in 1920 photo).
