OBJECTIVESOBJECTIVES• To raise £100,000 for the development organisation called

ActionAid to improve education in India, Pakistan and China.

• To show the world what the real problems are facing education in the above three countries. To write about the essential work that ActionAid and other development organisations are doing to battle them. To promote UNESCO’s Education for All.

• To promote India, Pakistan and China. To show the startling reality behind the stereotypes of these three great countries.

• To enjoy a lifetime opportunity to follow my heart across Asia and on horseback. To follow in the footsteps of some of the world's greatest ever explorers.

• To make a broadcast standard documentary on this ride.

AFGHANI SCAMPSAFGHANI SCAMPSAfghani ponies carried the ride across Pakistan but it was only Sparks and Kabul that made it over the Himalayas. Rohan and Griffin proved to be two stallion too much and had to be sold shortly before leaving.

Pamirs, skirting the edge of the forbidding Taklamakan desert, crossing Polo’s dreaded desert of Lop for the final gallop over the grasslands of Inner Mongolia to Beijing.

• To rediscover a forgotten way of life.
