ROLLER COASTERby Janet Spencer

A team of seven people went to California in order to set the world record for the most roller coasters ridden in 24 hours. The group rode on 40 different roller coasters at eight different amusement parks in California, starting at 5:00 p.m. on October 14, 2000 and ending at 5:00 p.m. the next day. Come along with Tidbits as we ride the world’s tallest coaster!• From the days of the first roller coaster ride to today,

a competition to build the tallest, longest, scariest roller coaster on earth has pushed the industry forward into new realms. In 2004, this competition spurred Six Flags Great Adventure theme park in New Jersey to announce that they were building the highest and fastest roller coaster on earth. Hand out candy with care this Halloween

(NC)—Halloween is often named one of the most exciting and fun-filled nights of the year, but for many parents, the evening also comes with anxiety about their children’s safety. As a mom of a child with severe food allergies, Erica Ehm is very familiar with the struggle many parents face on Halloween.

“For years when we were trick-or-treating, my son would walk ahead of my daughter and announce to every homeowner that his sister has food allergies, as a way of protecting her before collecting their candy,” Ehm explained. “It can be a nerve-wracking night because you never know what your child may come into contact with, but you also want them to experience the joy of getting dressed up and trick-or-treating.”

According to Anaphylaxis Canada, one in two Canadians know someone with a serious food allergy and a peanut allergy affects about two in 100 children (www.anaphylaxis.ca). So naturally, Halloween can be especially daunting given the amount of food that is passed out and potentially in contact with someone who is allergic.

To help ease concern and let kids focus on having fun, this year, Nestlé is asking Canadians to “Paint the Town Red” to let children and parents know that the treats they are handing out are made in a peanut-free facility. To get involved, look for the iconic red Nestlé Assorted box, filled with snack size Kit Kat, Aero, Smarties and Coffee Crisp bars. Place the box where it is visible to trick-or-treaters so they can recognize that you are handing out treats made in a peanut-free facility. You can even get your whole neighbourhood involved with the program. Visit YummyMummyClub.ca and if you make a pledge to provide treats made in a peanut-free facility, your name will be entered into a contest to win a supply of Nestlé Assorted for your entire street – up to 50 households.

Erica Ehm points out the value of getting the whole neighbourhood involved to make Halloween fun and safe for all children.

“Imagine the fun kids will have scoring the treats they know and love at every home,” she says. “But also knowing that the red box is committed to providing a safe product for my daughter—and one that she already loves to eat – means such a lot to me. I hope every house participates.” www.newscanada.com

KINGDA KA (continued):• The secret to Kingda Ka’s thrill is all in the

launch sequence. Whereas standard older roller coasters employ a cable system which slowly and laboriously winches a car to the top of a hill, the Kingda Ka uses space-age hydraulic engineering to launch a car in exactly the same sort of way an aircraft is launched from an aircraft carrier, with similar thrust and G-forces involved. The system is basically a high tech catapult, with a giant hydraulic launch system delivering 12,500 horsepower in a single colossal blast – twelve times the horse power of a Formula One race car. Eight military grade 500-horsepower hydraulic motors – which took a year to construct – charge up the accumulators, forcing hydraulic fluid into the chambers under great pressure. When a trigger is pulled, the pressure is released and the car is launched at rocket speed. It’s similar in many ways to blowing up a balloon and then letting it go. Kingda Ka is one of only two roller coasters in the world that uses this technology. The experience has been compared to being in a jet fighter, or being a drag racer.

QUICK BITS• It takes only ten seconds to go from launch to

being 456 feet in the air on top of the tower.• The highest point of the ride is 45 stories

tall, which is about 4/5ths the height of the Washington Monument. It’s tall enough that the entire Statue of Liberty would fit under the main arch with 100 feet to spare.

• On foggy days, you can’t see the top of the tower from the bottom.

• The ride cost $25 million to construct.• The entire track is just over 1,000 yards long.• Fittingly enough, the very first passengers

were the engineers who built it. • The braking system, done with magnetic fields

generated by 473 magnets, means there’s no friction to wear parts out. It’s silent, efficient, and fail-safe.

• The roller coaster has four cars, and each car seats 18 passengers. About 1,400 people per hour take the ride.

BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSESo where should you sit to get the best ride?

Depends on what you’re looking for. Sitting in the very back of a coaster train yields the

wildest ride since the last car is being pulled by the weight of the front cars, making for some nice whipping action, especially if they are long trains on steep hills. However, sitting in the front has benefits too. The very first car will hang over the first drop waiting for the rest of the cars to crest the hill before the big plunge. Front cars also have better low-G moments when the train is going over the top of low hill, leading to better stomach-lifting airtime. The ride is usually smoothest in the middle of the train, a good spot for beginners.

SAFETY CONCERNS• Two weeks after the grand opening, a bolt

unexpectedly sheered off, damaging the brake system. Custom-made bolts were ordered and installed to fix the problem and prevent it from happening again.

• In 2009, the roller coaster was struck by lighting in the middle of the night when the park was closed. It suffered serious damage and was closed for repairs.

• Because it is so close to the Jersey Shore, the coaster is capable of withstanding hurricane

APE INTELLIGENCE• Primates are profoundly intelligent, and one

of the ways they display this is in the many creative ways they find to escape from their enclosures. Consider the following stories:

• In a Texas zoo, an orangutan foiled the electric fence and managed to escape by grabbing clumps of grass in order to create an insulating mitten, then climbing over the electrified wires without being shocked.

• When a worker at the Washington National Zoo mistakenly left several large barrels in the enclosure housing several orangutans, one of the ingenious animals, named Bonnie, simply stacked the barrels up and climbed over the fence, followed by her companions, and then liberated a picnic basket from a shocked tourist. When zookeepers found her, she was calmly munching on some fried chicken and drinking orange juice.

• Jonathan, an orangutan at the Los Angeles Zoo, was an escape artist. Keepers designed a new outdoor area for him, then invited media and dignitaries to watch while Jonathan was released into the area to explore it. Jonathan, on entering the new play area, took one look around, uprooted a nice tree that had been planted for his pleasure, leaned it against the wall, and climbed over the wall as keepers, dignitaries, and visitors watched. Later, while being held in an escape-proof exhibit, he entertained himself by taking burlap bags he’d been given to play with and whipping them through the bars of his cage, snagging steam pipes along the wall and pulling them loose. When keepers removed the bags and gave him a cardboard box instead, he ripped the box up, made spikes out of the cardboard, and used them to break the ceiling lights.

• Fu Manchu was an orangutan in the Omaha Zoo. One day in 1968, a zoo worker ran to the head curator to report that Fu Manchu and all the other orangutans had escaped from their outdoor enclosure and were hanging out in the trees nearby. After coaxing the animals back into their cage, the curator investigated, and found an access door had evidently been left unlocked. He chewed out the staff and locked the door. Several days later, the orangutans escaped again, and again the curator found the access door unlocked. “I was getting ready to fire someone,” he reported. Several days later, a breathless keeper came running up to the curator insisting he had to come quick and witness what Fu Manchu was doing. The curator watched as Fu Manchu produced a piece of stiff wire, slid it between the access door and the casing, slipped the latch, and popped the door open. He escaped, followed by the rest of the orangutan clan. Now that they knew how the escapes were happening, the question was where the wire was coming from. Investigation revealed something shiny in Fu Manchu’s mouth. The wire, bent into the shape of his jaw, was hidden between his lip and gum. After this story got considerable publicity in the papers, the American Association of Locksmiths made Fu Manchu an honorary member.

IT’S A FACT

• Orangutans are among the most intelligent primates and routinely use tools.

• Orangutans have a natural ability to tie knots.

• ‘Orang-utan’ is Indonesian for ‘person of the forest’.

• Because of human activity and poaching, oranutans are now critically endangered in the wild.

Stay fresh in the kitchen this fall(NC)—Fall brings an abundance of farm fresh and local produce to heighten the flavour at your dinner table. This season, maximize your dining experience with your family and friends by following these four tips from KitchenAid Canada spokesperson and renowned chef Lynn Crawford:

1. Embrace the season: Autumn produces some of the most delicious and rich vegetablesof the year. It’s important to use fresh ingredients that are in season as they not only taste better, but also allow you to embrace and celebrate the flavours of each season through the meals you create for family and friends.

2. Put fresh first: You want what’s best for your family which is why creating meals with quality ingredients, to boost flavor and reap the full benefits of produce is so important. Using fresh ingredients also provides an abundance of nutritional value. Create a list of local farmers markets in your neighbourhood. Having the list on hand will entice you to add more fresh ingredients in your meals knowing that they are only a step away.

3. Keep them crisp: Those with a love of cooking know the impact that fresh ingredients have on a delicious meal – but we’ve all had to throw out fruits and veggies that spoil before we’ve had the chance to use them. Today, you can get refrigerators that actually help keep your food fresher longer. KitchenAid® refrigerators with Preserva™ Food Care System have innovative technology that keep your fridge and freezer at optimal humidity and temperature levels to extend and maximize the freshness of your food. For more information on new appliance options that make your life easier, visit www.kitchenaid.ca.

*based on commonly purchased produce

4. Use up all your ingredients: How many times have you come home from the grocery store with something you already had stocked? Keeping your fridge clean and organized will not only assist you when looking at your inventory, but will also help save you money.

It’s time to make farm fresh and local a priority in the kitchen, and with new technologies, it’s easier than ever to make seasonal a recurring theme for every meal. Seek inspiration from your local market and delicious meals will follow.

PICKS OF THE WEEK“The Campaign” (R) -- Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis face off as two satirical politicians fighting in a North Carolina congressional race. Ferrell plays the incumbent, Cam Brady, a moron prone to public embarrassment. Galifianakis plays the opposing Marty Huggins, a thin-voiced housecat of a man. He’s pushed into the campaign by evil CEOs eager to replace Brady with a more obedient tool.Ferrell and Galifianakis do their character bits well enough for an hour and 25 minutes, so you’ll laugh at least a few times. Don’t expect any piercing or insightful takes on the modern political landscape. The movie is generous with physical comedy, light on satire.

“Safety Not Guaranteed” (R) -- Short on ideas and

brimming with cynicism, a group of Seattle magazine reporters are assigned to do a story about some local weirdo. Somebody posted in the classifieds section that they were seeking a partner for time travel. Aubrey Plaza (the brooding, adorable, sarcastic young secretary from TV’s “Parks and Recreation”) shows her dramatic talent as the intern tasked with earning the “time traveler’s” trust. The result is a funny, unique comedy with some great performances. Mark Duplass plays an earnest and likable grocery clerk who believes he’s cracked the mystery of time travel. It’s not a big-budget flick, but the movie has heart and grabbed attention at Sundance.

“Ruby Sparks” (R) -- Calvin (Paul Dano) is a young writer struggling to write a follow up to his early success. As a writing exercise he invents Ruby Sparks, the perfect fictional girlfriend. One day he wakes up and Ruby (Zoe Kazan, also the screenwriter) is a real woman in his life. She’s sweet and quirky and everything he’s written about her is true. Surprisingly, the film avoids a trite romcom fantasy approach (this isn’t

“Mannequin”). The movie gets deep and explores themes about love, control and expectations as Calvin sees his dream girl as a flesh-and-blood person. Dano and Kazan bring so much chemistry that it’s no surprise they’re also a couple off-screen.

“First Position” (NR) -- This documentary follows six kids from vastly different backgrounds who put their hopes and dreams into ballet. Top-tier ballet requires that dancers undergo intense training from a very early age. Without any interest or prior knowledge of ballet, you can be taken in by their stories. Ballet demands determination and sacrifice, and the film shows the level of endurance and physicality that dancers must possess.

force winds. Nevertheless, damage occurred during Hurricane Irene in 2011, and the ride was closed for repairs once again.

No one has ever been killed while riding the Kingda Ka. The odds of being injured on an amusement park ride are 1 in 23 million. According to the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission, in 1999 over 600,000 people were injured on bikes, just under 100,000 on trampolines, nearly 50,000 while using golf equipment, while 7,260 were injured on amusement park rides, and only 138 of those people needed to be hospitalized. Most injuries are due to people failing to follow rules rather than equipment failure.

OUCH! Kingda Ka does not operate when it’s raining,

because being hit by raindrops at 128 mph is not fun.

G-FORCE FACTS Normal earth gravity has a g force of 1. Astronauts

in orbit float around in zero g’s. Jet pilots black out at 10 g’s. On a roller coaster, g forces decrease on the way down a hill (making you feel lighter) and increase on the way up (making you feel heavier). At 3 g’s a 100-lb person feels like they weigh 300 lbs. On the way down a hill riders may feel 0 g’s, although most coasters only go down to about .2 g’s, making a 100-lb. person weigh 20 lbs. A typical roller coaster offers a maximum of 3.5 g’s. More than that makes the ride too much. That’s about the same g forces as astronauts feel during a space shuttle launch. Three coasters outside the U.S. generate over 6.5 g’s.

ONE-UPPED Kingda Ka was the world’s fastest roller coaster

until Formula Rossa opened in Abu Dhabi in November 2010, which reaches a speed of 150 mph, reaching that speed in 4.9 seconds following launch. The hydraulic launch system is identical to the one used on the Kingda Ka. However, Kingda Ka still retains the title of the world’s tallest roller coaster.

Welcome to the Fluffy Boy Edition of animals looking for homes at Katie’s Place!

The first candidate is Marlowe. He is poofy. He is puffy. He is handsome! Marlowe was originally brought in as a stray to

another shelter and wasn’t shy about sharing his displeasure about finding himself there. His grumpiness led to his transfer to us and when he first joined us, he made sure we understood exactly how much this sucked for him. But we weren’t about to give into his hissy fits

easily… we’ve seen his kind before… we know their tricks! As suspected, Marlowe just needed a bit of time and space. With time and patience, his “It’s-your-fault-I-am-here!” attitude slowly gave way to “OK… so you feed me and give me a clean, warm place to hang out… perhaps you are tolerable”. Marlowe’s latest feelings seem to be “You guys n’ gals aren’t as monstrous as I originally thought.?”. Marlowe still wants to interact on his terms and will require a cat-savvy person but Marlowe seems to have

given up his Mr. Cranky Pants persona in favour of a kinder, gentler Mr. Bring Me My Treats.

Our second Fluffy Feline for your consideration is Butch. Not only is this boy about as handsome as they come, he is sweet, mellow and smart to bout! While Butch has been adorned with so many fine feline qualities, one thing prevents the other cats from becoming jealous and making snide remarks about his imaginary thick ankles… Butch has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). While this compromises his immune system, it isn’t nearly as scary as it sounds! It is not contagious to any other species except and many positive cats can live long, healthy lives. So come down and meet Mr. Fluffy Pants… chat with us about FIV and our Permanent Foster Program.

Spooktacular Halloween fun for pets(NC)—Halloween isn’t just for kids. Pets are joining the festivities too by dressing up in fabulous costumes. For the upcoming Halloween season, here are tips on how to dress your pet for spooktackular success, and keep them safe and happy during the celebration.

Devilishly Cute Dress Up

Before you begin shopping for your pets’ Halloween costume, here’s a rundown of some of this year’s cutest options:

• Top Trends: some pet parents like to outfit their pets in the same looks that are popular amongst adults and kids. This year, pet’s costumes run the gamut from superheroes such as Spiderman and Wonder Woman, to rock stars like Bret Michaels and childhood favourites like the sock monkey.

• Something for everyone: combining style, quality and fun, you can style your pet with looks from Martha Stewart Pets, Marvel Comics and the Bret Michaels Pets Rock, which can be found at PetSmart. Each collection includes adorable options such as Wonder Woman, Superman, an enchanting dragon, spooky spider, devilishly cute skeleton and a classic bumblebee costume.

• Cool cats: Cats can join the fun with adorable character hats, like the jester and princess.

• Time to shine: Show off your pet at PetSmart’s annual Howl-O-Ween pet parade on October 20 at your local store or in the online Monster Cute photo contest powered by Greenies at www.facebook.com/PetSmart from September 10 through October 24.

Costumes, toys and more ideas for Halloween fun for your pet can be found at PetSmart or www.petsmart.com.

Halloween Safety

(NC) Halloween isn’t just for kids. Pets are joining the festivities too, but it’s important to keep safety in mind while you celebrate. To make Halloween a real treat for pets and ensure they stay safe and happy, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

• Entertaining at Home: Is your dog easily spooked? Even the friendliest pet may be alarmed by a ghost or witch at the front door. One of the best ways to help eliminate unwanted

surprises is by establishing a safe, pets-only room in the house. This may also put trick-or-treaters who are uncomfortable around pets at ease.

“Before having pets join in the Halloween festivities, it’s important to assess whether your pet will be comfortable participating or if the festivities will cause undue stress,” says Dr. Robyn Jaynes, DVM, Pet Care Expert at PetSmart. “If you have a young or senior pet, or one that is shy around others, it’s better to give them a quiet space away from

all the activity or host a small family celebration where they’ll feel more comfortable.”

• Pet Friendly Treats: Chocolate is particularly tempting for pets, but it can make them seriously ill. Pet parents should keep all Halloween candy out of pets’ reach. Also, choose a treat that will help pets celebrate Halloween and includes health benefits, such as Greenies Dental Chews, which keep dogs’ and cats’ teeth clean and breath fresh.

• Safety First: Is your pet ready to step out on the street? Reflective leashes, collars and ID tags with flashing lights are essential accessories for any pet Halloween costume. Pets should also have proper identification that includes pet parents’ contact information. Finally, make sure that an adult is holding the leash and that the pet is at ease around strangers and crowds.

More tips on pet safety as well as Halloween costumes and toys can be found at PetSmart or www.petsmart.com.

◆ It was 20th-century American author and actress Cornelia Otis Skinner who made the following sage observation: “One learns in life to keep silent and draw one’s own confusions.”

◆ If you grew up during a certain era in the United States, you are probably familiar with the board game Parcheesi. If you have a particularly good memory, you may recall that the game’s subtitle is “The Royal Game of India.” You may not realize, though, that the game is so-called because royalty in India used to play a life-size version of the game in gardens specially designed for the pursuit. Centuries ago, rajas would dress members of their harems in brightly colored costumes and use them as game pieces.

◆ Everyone knows that a sophomore is someone in his or her second year of high school or college. Most people don’t realize, though, that the word is derived from the Greek words “sophos,” which means “wise,” and “moros,” which means “stupid.”

◆ It’s not unusual for music critics and the artists they critique to butt heads, but they usually do it in print, not in person. In 1978, though, the staff of Rolling Stone magazine and the band the Eagles went head-to-head in a softball match. The writers ended up losing to the rock stars.

◆ The creator of the ubiquitous smiley face earned a grand total of $45 for his creative effort.

◆ Having trouble with your teenager? It’s a worldwide problem, it seems -- though not always for the same reasons. In 2004, a 13-year-old boy in India ran away from home, declared that he was a Hindu holy man and founded a monastery. Q: I can’t remember which cable network it was on, but I really liked a series with female stand-up comedians hosted by the red-haired actress from “The Office.” Can you tell me what network it was on and whether it will return for another season? A: You are thinking of the TV Guide Network’s original comedy series “StandUp in Stilettos,” which is hosted by Kate Flannery. I am happy to report that it will be back for a second season beginning Saturday, Nov. 10, at 11 p.m. ET/PT. As you

know, the show features three stand-up comedians per episode, and this season’s scheduled guests include Thea Vidale, Cory Kahaney, Cathy Ladman, Luenell and Laurie Kilmartin.

***Q: I remembered reading a while back that they were bringing back the sketch-comedy show “In Living Color.” Is that true? A: I spoke with Kali Hawk -- who co-stars as Shelby on Fox’s “New Girl” and also stars in the “In Living Color” reboot -- and she’s not sure when it will air either, although she assures me that they shot the pilot episode/special, and it’s hilarious.“We taped the special, and it was going to be a two-part special to air sometime in the fall,” Kali said. “But I haven’t been told what’s going to happen with it, whether it’s going to air or when, or if it’s not going to

air at all. I really don’t know. It’s just crazy because people ask me about it so often. There’s so much excitement about that show, but I don’t have any details that I can give out.”Working with the show’s creator and first-rate comedian Keenan Ivory Wayans was a highlight for Kali. “It was definitely fun working with Keenan. The man is a legend. The characters from the original installment are still so relevant today. It was really neat to get to work with somebody who created something like that, something that has such long-lasting appeal.”

***Q: I am a fan the show “The Finder.” What will happen now that Michael Clarke Duncan has passed away? A: Fox announced in May that it would not be renewing the freshman series,

which aired as a midseason show from January through May 2012. The death of “Finder” co-star Michael Clarke Duncan, 54 -- who passed away in September from complications after suffering a heart attack in July -- had nothing to do with the show’s cancellation. Michael completed three movies before his death: “The Sibling,” “The Challenger” and “In the Hive,” which will be released posthumously.

***Q: Could you please tell me if “Body of Proof ” was canceled? A: The Dana Delany-starring medical-mystery drama will be back for a 13-episode third season on ABC come midseason -- which most likely means January or February 2013, although no official premiere date has been provided as of this writing.

String Fall Leaves Into Colorful CrownsIt’s not uncommon to spot Lisa MacMartin strolling through her neighborhood at the

crack of dawn collecting what she calls “urban bits of nature” for the day’s craft lesson at her welcoming family shop, Heartfelt. “If I need fresh materials for fairy-house making, I’ll scamper around to find bark, pinecones and acorns on the ground. Using fresh materials is a way to celebrate the seasonality,” she adds. Helping kids and their parents become more aware of the natural world in simple ways is her passion. On a recent Saturday, her quest was all about finding leaves for fashioning fall leaf crowns. Thanks to a windstorm the night before, Lisa’s finds included armloads of vibrant maple leaves still attached to fallen branches. Spread out on a large project table, the bounty was ready inspiration for all ages.“Leaf crowns can be made anywhere leaves are falling,” she tells eager kids and their parents. “The simple, natural craft gives everyone something

to do when you take a break under a tree. And it’s fleeting,” she points out. “A cute leaf crown only lasts a day, reminding us to be present and appreciate the here and now.”Here’s how you and your kids can make your own leaf crowns to be kings and queens of autumn:

1. Collect 15-20 freshly fallen pliable leaves with stems. (Maple leaves with their pointed ends are especially fun for crown-making.) 2. Cut off the stems at an angle with scissors where they meet the leaf. You will use them as pins to attach the leaves together.3. Begin by overlapping the edges of two leaves. Gently insert the cut, angled end of a stem in and out of the two layers to hold the two leaves together. Repeat by adding another leaf to the right of the second leaf,

“stem pinning” it in place. Continue creating the leaf chain until it fits your head. Attach the last leaves with another stem pin to finish the round crown. 4. Place it on your head and take a picture!Resource: www.heartfeltonline.com

◆ When you’re in a hurry, dry erase markers and permanent markers sometimes look the same. Ever grabbed a marker to write a note on a dry-erase white board and found that it wouldn’t wipe off? To remove permanent marker from a white board, try using a pencil eraser. Rub lightly on the marker areas only, working from the outside in. It should come off.

◆ Rusty bicycle handles can be unsightly and a pain. Make a paste of salt and lemon juice (3 parts salt, 1 part lemon juice), and use it to rub the rust away with a dry cloth.

◆ What will you do with all that candy from trick-or-treating? Make your holiday cookie plans now, and you can freeze some for later baking use.

◆ “If you have magazines or books you have finished reading, perhaps you’d consider donating them to local seniors centers. Look in the yellow pages to see if there are any near you. Often, the seniors are grateful to have new reading material.” -- T.C. in Florida

◆ Many more of us nowadays are using reusable fabric shopping bags. A few cities have banned the use of plastic bags for retail shops. These fabric bags are much better for the environment, and can hold a lot more groceries per bag. One thing many people forget to do is wash them. You can take out the plastic insert (if there is one) and toss the bags in the washing machine. Hang to dry, and you’ll be carrying around a much cleaner bag!

◆ To sharpen scissors, fold over several layers of aluminum foil and cut into strips.

Rid your body of toxins and waste materials

With time, waste materials and undigested food create build-up in the digestive tract that obstructs the absorption of nutrients. When not eating the proper food, this build-up gets formed faster and easier. This build-up not only prevents the absorption of nutrients but makes the digestive tract work harder, taking extra energy from the body making you feel heavy and sluggish. The build-up created by improperly digested food becomes the breeding ground for unfriendly bacteria, yeast and mold in the body, and the waste that they release creates an acid environment.People have experienced loss of weight during a cleanse because of the removal of the thick build-up in the intestines. This is a reason why you should cleanse your body at least twice a year. Some people even do it every change of season. The body collects toxins from food, environment, showering, cosmetics, cleaning products, etc. but the job of the body’s lymphatic system is to get rid of all these toxins. If you keep adding and not eliminating the toxins, the level of toxicity becomes high and disease could result. The protocol for a good cleanse is to start from the bottom to the top, so logically the first organ that should be cleansed is the colon.

The best tool for colon cleanse is fibre. Fibre is exclusively a plant nutrient. Plants need fibre for structural support. Animals have bones and muscles instead. Whenever you increase your intake of plants in comparison to animal foods, you are increasing our fibre intake. The different types of cleanses that I use for my clients are designed to bring balance to the body and eliminate toxins and waste materials. As a consequence, extra pounds go away!Benefits of cleanse are:

• Clean your taste buds to experience new flavours• Increase absorption of nutrients• Boost your immune system• Increase energy levels and • Shed extra pounds.
