CAUTION Do not install the Ricoh (OEM) inks that were supplied with the printer.

Do not power on the printer before installing the Sublisure ink cartridges.

During downtime, it is highly recommended to leave the printer powered on, to allow the Ricoh automatic maintenance utilities to keep the print head nozzles clear.

The following instructions cover the installation of the supplied ‘z74415en.exe’ (x64-bit) and ‘z74416en.exe’ (x32-bit) versions of the Ricoh SG 3110DN printer driver, on a system loaded with Windows 10. Your experi-ence may differ based on the operating system and internet browser being used.

NOTE: This guide and the printer drivers supplied with it are only compatible with Windows 7, 8 and 10, either x32 bit or x64bit. It will not work with previous versions of Windows or any Mac or Linux based operating systems.

a) Setting up a new printer 1) With the printer turned OFF install the Sublisure sublimation printer cartridges, as illustrated below in figure 1.

2) Turn on the printer (to allow the ink cartridges to charge the print heads)

N.B. DO NOT connect the USB cable to the printer at this point!

3) If you are unsure of whether your system is x64-bit or x32-bit, please navigate to - ‘Control Panel\ System and Secu-rity\ System’ (see figure 2)

4) Double click the ‘z74415en.exe’ file (x64-bit system) or ‘z74416en.exe’ (x32-bit system).

5) When the welcome dialogue box appears click the ‘Next’ button (see figure 3).

6) Type in a location on your PC to extract the driver files to (see figure 4 - arrow A), or click ‘Browse’ to browse to and create a location folder (see figure 4 - arrow B). Then click ‘Next’ (see figure 4 - arrow C).

7) After extraction is complete click ‘OK’ to close the extractor application (see figure 5).

8) Connect the printer to the PC using the supplied USB cable.

9) Launch the ‘Devices and Printers’ dialogue box from ‘Control Panel\ Hardware and Sound (see figure 6). Then click ‘Add a printer’ (see - arrow).

10) When the Add a device search box appears click ‘The printer that I want isn’t listed’ (see figure 7).

11) Choose ‘Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings’ (see figure 8 - arrow A), then click ‘Next’ (see figure 8 - arrow B).

12) From the ‘Choose a printer port’ select ‘Use an existing port’ (see figure 9 - arrow A), then from the drop down box select an avilable USB port (see figure 9 - arrow B) and finally click ‘Next’ (see figure 9 - arrow C).

12) From the ‘Install the printer driver’ dialogue box click ‘Have Disk’ (see figure 10).

13) From the ‘Install From Disk’ dialogue box type in the location that you extracted the printer drivers to in step No. 6 (see figure 11 - arrow A), or browse to the location, using the ‘Browse’ button (see figure 11 - arrow B).

14) From the ‘Locate File’ dialogue box select ‘OEMSETUP.inf’ (see figure 12 - arrow A), then click ‘Open’ (see figure 12 - arrow B).

15) From the ‘Install From Disk’ dialogue box click ‘OK’ (see figure 13).

16) From the ‘Install the printer driver’ dialogue box select ‘Ricoh’ as the manufacturer (see figure 14 - arrow A), then ‘RICOH AficioSG3110DN PCL 6’ as the printer (see figure 14 - arrow B), finally click ‘Have Disk’ (see figure 12 - arrow C).

17) From the ‘Type a printer name’ dialogue box, either accept the default printer name or type your own into the ‘Printer name’ box (see figure 15 - arrow A) and then click ‘Next’ (see figure 15 arrow B).

18) From the ‘Add Printer’ dialogue box select ‘Set as the default printer’ or if you prefer unselect ‘Set as the default printer’ option (see figure 16 - arrow A), finally click ‘Finish’ (see figure 16 - arrow B).

6) Launch the ‘Devices and Printers’ dialogue box from ‘Control Panel\ Hardware and Sound, then right-click ‘RICOH AficioSG3110DN’ (or whatever name your existing printer has), and from the pop-out menu select ‘Printer properties’ (see figure 5).

7) From the properties dialogue box click the ‘Advanced’ tab (see figure 6).

8) Click the ‘New Driver’ button to launch the ‘Add Printer Driver’ Wizard (see figure 7).

with Sublisure inks

The following instructions cover settings that will need to be configured from within the Ricoh SG 3110DN print dialogue box.This one-time setup will configure the printer driver software to send print files to the printer that are the correct resolution and dot type. And will allow the included .ICC (International Colour Consortium) files, supplied, to produce correct colour output for each substrate supported by Sublisure sublimation ink.Once the settings are configured they can be saved in a convenient location, for later use, thereby saving the time and effort of configuring the print driver for each print or substrate.

NOTE: The settings mentioned above are only designed to work with sublisure inks and recommended papers, and are not licenced or tested with any other ink or paper system.

a) Configuring the print driver for Sublisure Metal

1) Launch the ‘Devices and Printers’ dialogue box from ‘Control Panel\ Hardware and Sound, then right-click ‘RICOH AficioSG3110DN’ (or whatever name you chose during installation), and from the pop-out menu select ‘Printer properties’ (see figure 1).

2) From the ‘Printer Properties’ dialogue box ‘General’ tab, click ‘Preferences’ (see figure 2).

3) From the ‘Printing Preferences’ dialogue box Select the ‘Paper’ tab (see figure 3).

3) From the ‘Printing Preferences’ dialogue box ‘Paper’ tab, choose from the various drop down boxes: Type: ‘Inkjet Plain Paper’ (see figure 4 - arrow A) Adjust Height of Print-head: ‘Standard’ (see figure 4 - arrow B) Print Mode: ‘Fine’ (see figure 4 - arrow C)Then click the ‘Print Quality tab to move onto the next set of settings (see figure 4 - arrow D).

4) From the ‘Printing Preferences’ dialogue box ‘Print Quality’ tab, choose from the various drop down boxes: Graphics Mode: ‘Raster’ (see figure 5 - arrow A) True Type Mode: ‘Download as True Type’ (see figure 5 - arrow B) Print Mode: ‘Fine’ (see figure 5 - arrow C)Then click ‘Advanced’ (see figure 5 - arrow D).

7) From the ‘Advanced’ dialogue box ‘Setup’ tab, choose ‘Save’ (see figure 8).

8) From the ‘Save Custom Settings’ browse to a convenient place, where you can easily return and choose a suitably descriptive name for the printer settings, then click ‘Save’ (see figure 8) to save the settings for subse-quent Sublisure Metal prints.
