About Ricoh

14

Do you want overseas service provided with a domestic contract?

We have cross-border capabilities to make your event successful.

Making your event sustainable

Large or small, business or fun, events such as conferences, sports competitions, concerts, festivals, and even weddings, etc. can be major sources of greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental impact. However, many event organizers are recognizing that events do not have to have a huge climate impact and, in fact, can play a positive role by becoming low-carbon or even carbon neutral.

We want you to be confident that no matter the size and nature of your event we can help you make it sustainable to leave the smallest environmental footprint possible. This is accomplished through Ricoh’s portfolio of sustainability services, products and products features. As event organiser you can benefit from a wide range of services and products addressing three major sustainability themes: Energy Efficiency, Resource Conservation and Human Well-being.

Event organisers can integrate Ricoh’s energy efficient products to reduce the energy consumption of their events. Other Ricoh sustainability offerings can contribute to waste minimization and resource conservation during and after the event. Next to environmental credentials, we can also help you address the positive social contribution of your event by having offerings addressing inclusivity, end-user well-being and comfort and so on.

Carbon Balanced print services

Carbon emissions are unavoidable, even in the cleanest processes. There are several ways to counteract this environmental impact. A common method for climate compensation is offsetting the residual environmental impact of an event with carbon credits. In this way, carbon balanced events contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

At Ricoh we have an extensive knowledge to translate the carbon footprint of using Ricoh devices into hard figures, and the accuracy of the calculation methods therefore becomes even more crucial. This offsetting covers the paper and power use of each device and maintenance including parts, supplies and Service Engineers’ travel. The methodology for calculation of the carbon footprint by imaging devices is covered by the third-party accreditation by British Standards Institute (BSI).

As event organiser you can also offset your remaining unavoidable carbon footprint with the Gold Standard carbon credits from the Clean Development Mechanism projects, which is traceable on the UNFCCC website. Customers will receive a Ricoh certificate stating that the remaining environmental impact of their Ricoh equipment employed during the event is offset.

GreenLine remanufactured devices

With Ricoh’s GreenLine product range you benefit from proven sustainable business practices, a highly economical print solution, reliability and peace of mind. With GreenLine remanufactured brand for pre-owned devices Ricoh goes further than just recycling – we totally “revitalise” multifunctional products. Ricoh engineers ensure each and every stage of Ricoh resource recirculation procedure.

Reference cases

At Ricoh we have applied the principles of a sustainable event to our own events as well as helped others achieve their sustainable events targets. To name a few, the ATP World Tour tennis tournaments, in collaboration with whom Ricoh implemented its award winning Sustainability Optimisation Programme across all events for four consecutive years. An optimised document workflow and a reduction in paper and energy consumption resulted in true carbon neutral document services at all tournaments.

The most recent large-scale event as the UNFCCC Climate Conference in Paris (COP21) was the first UN climate change conference to attempt certification under the ISO 20121 standard. ISO 20121 is an international standard which specifies requirements for an event sustainability management system and is a concrete tool to organize an event in a manner such that it contributes to the three dimensions of sustainability: economic/ financial, environmental and social. Ricoh has contributed to the achievement of this important certification for COP21 by providing its Carbon Balancing services and GreenLine devices.

With Ricoh’s sustainability portfolio of services and products you have an opportunity to publicly demonstrate your commitment to sustainability and inspire participants and spectators to choose sustainable options in their own lives, while optimising your event costs.
