• 60 % of deaths and 43 % of the global burden of disease. Already 80% in LMIC.
• Chronic diseases and poverty are locked together in a vicious cycle. Chronic disease hinders economic development and worsens poverty.
• There are more fatal heart attacks in India and China than in all developed countries added together.
