How does the Canada Job Grant work? Employers know what skills will produce results in their business. The Government of Canada has designed this grant program to help you train existing or newly-hired employees. That way, you can find and train the right people that are important to your business growth. The Canada Job Grant offers funding towards the cost of training provided by eligible third-party trainers, such as RICH GROF Performance Sales Coaching and Leadership Development. The total cost of training will be shared between the Government of Canada and employers, with grant amounts up to two-thirds of the cost of training (up to a maximum of $10,000 per grant). Employers will be required to contribute the remaining one-third of the training costs. On top of that, depending on the application, there may be other grants available from the province as well.

FAQ’s Who is the grant for? Any business, including not-for-profit organizations, with a plan to train Canadians for a new or better job is eligible to apply. The grant is for any existing employees in your business or new hires. However, the grant does not cover sales or leadership training for self-employed owner-operators or the owners of the business. Is it hard to apply for the grant? The grant application process is not difficult, as long as you follow all the instructions and requirements as laid out by the Government of Canada. There are certain qualifications that need to be filled as required by the Government of Canada, and documents that need to be completed once the training has finished. We also have a trained Grant Coordinator available to help you, in case you have any questions. What conditions do I need to meet to receive the grant? Employers applying for the Canada-Provincial Job Grant must:

● Contribute a minimum of 1/3 eligible training costs in cash, with additional flexibility for small businesses (50 or fewer employees)

● Employ the individual(s) selected for training ● Be licensed to operate in their province ● Maintain appropriate workplace insurance and comply with all applicable

federal and provincial labour and human rights/legislation ● Have the training delivered in their respective province

How long will it take for my application to be processed? Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis. The length of the application process will vary depending on the number of applications received by the same ministry office or service provider and as funds are available. Applications will be reviewed on a continual basis, and employers will be notified as soon as a decision has been made. What is the step-by-step process? A representative from RICH GROF Performance Sales Coaching will meet with you to do an analysis of your sales training needs. Once an assessment has been done, we will present you with a proposal for the sales training. Next, we will help you fill out and submit your application to the government. Once you have received the grant approval, you will pay for the training in advance as per program requirements. Then, you can submit your request for reimbursements. It’s that easy! Once I apply, how long will it take to get the money back? Once you submit your request for reimbursements, you can expect the estimated time between your payment for the program and the first reimbursement to be 3-6 weeks. There will be a brief hold on the final disbursement of funds, until all program documentation have been received. Although we have no control over the processing of payments for the program, the government service providers we have spoken to have indicated that the processing time is reasonable. How long is the training program? Our training programs are custom-designed for each company and situation. We have full day seminars, 12 week sales programs, and regular coaching sessions that can be used individually or in combination. For best results, we encourage an initial training seminar or program coupled with a coaching program for best results in the first year. What types of training will it cover? The grant is for any training that will help your business train new and existing employees with job-related skills.

How much can I get? The total grant available per employee over the program shall not exceed $10,000. As an employer, you will contribute 1/3 of the total cost of the training, while the grant will cover up to 2/3 of the cost. Can I apply more than once? Yes, you can apply more than once. However, the total grant available per employee for the program is limited to $10,000. How long is the grant available? The grant is a 6 year partnership between the federal and provincial government that began in September 2014. What kinds of results can be expected from the training? We see the best results from our clients when they combine our sales training with a follow-up program. An ongoing and regular follow-up program can either be implemented by your sales manager, or our team at RICH GROF Performance Sales Coaching can come in and implement the program. When companies or organizations have opted for both the sales training and follow-up program, we have found that new salespeople performed better within our 12 week starter program. In addition, seasoned sales professionals also saw a noticeable increase in their sales, some by as much as 25%. As a side note, each of our program offerings is designed to provide you with a return on investment of 5 times the full investment of the program. So even at full price, our programs are a great investment! What types of costs will it cover? The Canada Job Grant may be used to support the following training costs:

● Tuition fees, or fees charged by training providers ● Mandatory student fees ● Textbooks, software, and other required materials ● Examination fees
